I wasn't aware that statements that didn't support the existence of something actually confirmed it.

Only reshoots approaching 50.00% or greater would require the use of the word "lengthy."

This new THR report seems like them trying to double down on some of the claims they made earlier in the week (length of the shoot, lightening of tone, etc), many of which the EW report already claimed as false.

Obi Wan and Leia make storywise the most sense. Leia needs a reason to believe that Obi Wan is the only hope, something has to point in his direction, since she is on her way to Tatooine.

Well, if you say so. I've never personally used that or anything close to that in defining the word lengthy. In typical use its more of a relative term. But I mean, by today's world standard, "angry internet guy" makes the rules...we just live by them. So, I'll defer to you.

Any other changes to or refining of the English language we should know about?

I hear ya. I think at this point, we're all going to believe what we want to believe, mostly based on whether or not we liked TFA. I remember hearing plenty of rumors about JJ having disputes with Bob Iger and Alan Horn, but in the end the only official word we ever got was from JJ himself basically saying "I appreciate the fact they let us do our thing without interfering". If you liked TFA, then the production of R1 probably doesn't seem so troubled since a lot of these reports actually have parallels to the production of TFA. If you didn't, then the sky is most likely falling right about now and it's all Disney's fault.

    This. This. This.. and This!

And what would you rebuild? Hmm? This?

Because if so I got bad news for you.. George Lucas, that guy you say Star Wars can't be done without.. He never gave two $#!%& about this. He never even so much as bothered to read them.

Wanna know what George is gonna give you after you "burn it all down"?
You want to know what was in that treatment Kathy slid into the shredder after she read it in 2013?

    This:

Feel free to tell me that you love it.. And how it's so "Original"..

lol Luke's hair in that picture...for the record George never considered anything of the EU canon so by making it Legends it didn't really do anything, also what's up with Sharkboy & Lava Girl?

Yeah I think someone posted this higher up on the thread but it does make sense and it's ALWAYS protocol to have pick-ups/re-shoots set up as a contingency as needed

Why even mention it then? Im rewatching Rebels just to get a feel for R1. It be amazing to reshoot with a character from Rebels. ha. I think we all want some type of HYPE/FLAIR in the film. I think its just to get certain people(like me) into R1 more. which, yes its a tactic that kinda help. I do want to watch it more but I still have my doubts. its gonna be the first thing SW without force users/lightsabers.

What I'm trying to understand is... how could they possibly be reshooting half of the film? They presumably have a rough cut already- that's what they need to even identify what to do in reshoots, right?

I don't know how long they shot for. It was a few months, right? So, if they are reshooting for a month... taking advantage of their scheduled reshoots, mind you... that's still less than half the film, maybe a quarter of the film at most, assuming that they work at a breakneck speed. From what I have learned from reading about and watching various behind-the-scenes stuff on other films, a month of filming seems to you about 15-20 minutes of film, depending on the director. So I just don't understand who a month of reshoots can replace 50% of the film.
