I'm really not concerned. Like, at all. To my knowledge, 3-4 weeks of reshoots for a movie that was filmed in 6 months is actually pretty normal, and The Force Awakens was given a similar period for pick-ups.

I've made it clear that I don't trust Devin Faraci on matters outside of those relating to the MCU (which he has good sources on), and it really doesn't surprise me that he has egg on his face when it turns out that there weren't test screenings with audiences.

In the meantime, I don't get the impression that they're going to turn the movie into a quippy jokefest or anything like that. The first trailer looked pretty dark, and adding some humor here and there would probably benefit the film. It's called "comic relief" for a reason. I guess we'll get a better impression of the film when the trailer hits with Celebration Europe (and, let's face it, we know it will).

It was announced 2 or 3 months ago. Comes out Oct. 4 and is a prequel but doesn't have a synopsis, yet.

It's not just the behind-the-scenes changes affecting the comic.

A Disney rep also said that Visual Guide that leaked had a lot of incorrect information, which points to changes.

I honestly think that the vast majority of the "incorrect information" was the placeholder text (some of which was about The Force Awakens). The recent LEGO leaks established that the ship and character designs are virtually the same. As far as the content goes, there aren't going to be any huge changes to the names of the characters, ships, and so on.

    Here's the tweet in question:

Given what we know, it's highly likely that they're expanding upon Darth Vader's role a bit.

And no, I don't think that Han Solo will be involved in this movie. Like, at all. Alden Ehrenreich is explicitly playing a young version of the character (that is to say, not a 34-year-old Harrison Ford analogue) and there hasn't been any evidence suggesting that he's going to be in the movie. It's basically just wishful thinking on the part of a few excited fans. As I said, Han doesn't have a role in this story - his involvement with the Rebel Alliance begins with smuggling Obi-Wan, Luke, and the others, not "lol I'm gonna commit high treason against the Empire".

Jason Ward has just posted his intel on the reshoots: http://makingstarwars.net/2016/06/how-extensive-will-the-rogue-one-reshoots-be/
    • Some crew initially heard J.J. Abrams was supervising the reshoots.
    • Gareth Edwards is doing the reshoots himself but with a partner, Christopher McQuarrie.
    • Christopher McQuarrie, the final writer on Rogue One will be working extensively with Edwards onset to make sure they’re on the “same page” with the most recent draft of the film.
    • Christopher McQuarrie’s draft of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was considered superior to the film they shot previously.
    • It was not Edwards’ fault as McQuarrie’s draft wasn’t completed when much of the film was shot and revisions kept coming in that made the film feel uneven.
    • 32 sets have been recreated for the reshoot.
    • The crew expects they are reshooting 40% of the film.
    • They are working 6 days a week for 8 weeks.

Makes me think of Trank/Fantastic Four with the rumors of Kinberg coming in to re-direct the "reshoots" in Trank's stead.

we learned, that the executives didn't like the "tone".. ...i'm really afraid that disney wants to add mickey mose tone to a movie serious and dark as a Star wars movie should be....

Reshooting 40% of the film, eh? Uh...

Anyone remember the "fuzzy footage" rumors during the making of AOTC?

The difference is that Josh Trank apparently directed much of the movie from a trailer using Skype and that he wasn't actually on-set for much of the time (and when he was, he had... issues). Not to mention that the reshoots for Fant4stic were longer than the actual period that they filmed the movie.

It doesn't seem like this movie is going to be a trainwreck or anything, but it does sound like executives are interfering with it. I'm pretty skeptical that they're really going to re-do 40% of the movie, though.

I REALLY hope Han is NOT in this movie... this is something i feel strongly about because he is not need in it, not even a stupid camo... i think some of the fan boys need to wake up to this... and here is why... It wont fit in with ep 4 ( ANH ) when Han states is not in this for the rebellion, that all he's interested in is money..
