This is absolutely the truth. After that there's a handful of near-perfect movies, with Pulp Fiction leading the way.

Go see it. It makes the start of ANH seem and feel much more dangerous and urgent.

The movie was overall enjoyable and worth seeing, but I think it mainly appeals as an iconic throwback to the OT, moreso than a legitimately great movie. I really can't honestly say it was great. The plot was dragging so badly for the first half, I felt like falling asleep or hoping my friends new to the Star Wars saga didn't. For the last half, it was so rushed and predictable that I really couldn't feel any empathy for the characters, and definitely not for that relationship they tried to force. Some of the characters felt not only shallow, but also poorly acted; i.e. Forrest Witaker's character and Krennic. On second thought, it may have just been poor scriptwriting, lol. Anyway, I'm not a cultist of the OT; so, this may just be the rant of a less-classical viewer.

My completely Spoiler-Free thoughts - if you haven't seen this film yet, go and see it. Cinematically this is such a strong film and brilliant addition to the Star Wars Galaxy. I loved the characters, the story, the effects, the practical effects, the small details, the large details, and wow... Darth Vader... wow. This film is marvellous.

Thank you Gareth Edwards, Kathleen Kennedy, and anyone else involved in this beautiful piece of Cinema.
