This basically confirms that darth Vader will basically be Krennic's manager in the movie. I didn't see anything that made me think that he'll be more than that

Still...CAN'T WAIT UNTIL DECEMBER

 

I had to re-watch a lot towards the beginning because the dialogue seemed kind of murky...or maybe I'm just really tired..

 

Ack!!!
That one particular *Vader-through-mist-approach* was fantastic.

...It actually managed to both spook me...and fill me with joy.

Yep- I'm primed to REALLY enjoy this movie. It seems pretty spot-on to the gritty imaginings I had as a seven-year-old playing with the figures in the early 80's.

Fun stuff!
Off to watch it one more time...

 

New Rogue One Trailer. Looks amazing, Jinn back story and some new Vader footage.
What are your initial thoughts?

 

Good stuff. I think this movie visually speaking will be a love letter from a kid who grew up in a Star Wars universe, played with the toys and games, and loves that world, just like all of us.

I think the stand alone films are off to a good start.

BUT

They've either vindictive or crazy to think I'm going to stand in line outside in December to watch this movie. It gets really really cold where I live. I might have a plan to deal with that this year, but it will take some coordinating with friends, most of whom are busy raising kids.

 

Incredible trailer, promised myself I wouldn't watch it but oh well. Even if the movie ends up being bad, it's got a great shot at being the most gorgeous SW movie so far. Also, I really dug Reverend Whittakers line at the end.

 

Methinks Galen built the exhaust port weakness into the Death Star on purpose...

 

I think a lot of people are going to be in the same boat re: looks great, but fool me once...

The director has definitely proven that he's not the greatest when it comes to story.

I went online today to see if there was any ticket sale news. I then found out that a theater just outside Copehagen here in Denmark had already put tickets up for sale, by mistake. They got to sell 12 ticksets before the ticketsale was stopped. What happend after that I dont know at all. I'm lucky that it wasen't the theater that I usualy go to when my buddy and I watch Star Wars, but I still feel sad for the people who are actually using that theater, because no ticketsale announcement has been released yet.

It seems like the ticketsale is back up for Valby kino in Denmark. More tickets has been sold. I'm going to get to the bottom of this RIGHT now.

Guys and gals.

Whatever you do, don't slow down the trailer and watch it frame by frame especially the part where Chirrut "whacks" that Stormtrooper across the face with his staff. The Stormtrooper reacts way too early with the "I learned this in stuntman school" head spin.

I agree. I think they were just trying to be critical and cast aspersions on both the reshoots and the strength of a lead female character that still doesn't meet all of the author's requirements.

If being the largest most prominent character on the theatrical poster means she was sidelined, then I don't know what would satisfy this idiot.

 

I don't think you can use the trailer to gauge Vader's role. They only give you what they want you to see at this time. I wasn't expecting them to blow their load with Vader in this trailer.

Here are some things i notice in the trailer.

At 1:08 in the trailer it mention "There requesting a call sign....Is Rogue....Rogue One.... LOVE THAT PART....
Guys ...BUT at 1:30-1:31 are those a TERMINATOR feet???.....REALLY looks like them....

I hope the Terminator is in our side with the REBELS....


At 1:53 looks like a Chewbacca Bowcaster....



And LOVING seeing Darth Vader on it.....

Can Jyn not have a character arc?

The way I see it, in the beginning of the film, Jyn is at odds with her superiors over how to fight the Empire. She's sassy and a bit of a loose cannon, but that doesn't preclude her from possessing solid leadership skills.

It's only when she discovers that her father helped build a planet-destroying super-weapon that she becomes more of a team player, and starts firing up the troops with passionate speeches.

 

The way everyone around him is reacting leads me to believe it must be someone important, and the ears and hair look like Tarkin's. The hair color is too dark, but that might be lighting? I think it probably is Tarkin. They're clearly trying to throw pretty much everyone they can into this!
