OFFICIAL NEWS Rogue One Trailer #1 & #2

I really hope not. Have yet to see it done realistically in a movie (even de-aging looks terrible) and I have no intention of seeing them experiment with it on a major (not to mention dead) actor. I think it's kind of immoral, actually! No need to have Peter Cushing's Tarkin. A recasting would be fine (see ROTS) but not like this.

 

All the trailers so far have made me so hungry for the movie!
The visuals were hands down brilliant, and they gave us just enough tidbits to chew on whilst we're waiting.
And I also really liked the score. It gave me chills. I don't agree that it was too 'generic'. If it was completely different to the musical tracks we know and love, it wouldn't stay true to the franchise. They altered the music just enough so that it isn't exactly the same, but so that when we hear it we KNOW, we're in the Star Wars universe. Changing up the score would have badly affected the feel of it in general. I personally think the trailer was like that for the most part, different yet with strong ties back to the saga that make us feel satisfied yet wanting for more.
And recreating a revered actor such as Cushing with CGI is more likely to turn out badly. I hope if they do use this method that they only use it sparingly. Maybe a few shots or glimpses, kind of like they did in the trailer (that had to be him!) and leave it at that. Don't redefine his role with a CGI creation. I would definitely prefer it if they recast Tarkin, and only give him small appearances.

And one more thing, DARTH VADER! His role in the trailer was perfect, used just enough to get us on the edge of our seats. December can't come soon enough!

 

I was literally about to post this picture to talk about it. It has to be a stand in actor that they would CGI Peter Cushing's face over. He should look the exact same if this movie leads directly into Episode 4. They did a great job with Michael Douglas in Antman with CGI.

Yep a cool trailer.

 

I know it was in another image or two, but now we can officially see the red lenses on Vader. I also like that the helmet doesn't look shiny in the shot we see there. It rarely looked all that glossy in A New Hope, so I'm glad that detail is being given attention.

 

this trailer/spot has a much better tone than the last ones. More depth than just only battles/explosions/pep talk.

The team does steals one of the new four-wing cargo shuttles to infiltrate the imperial base to steal the plans.

Vader is a cool looking guy.

I've to watch it some more to get everything out of it. Yuppieh!
