S4 Prediction & Speculation Thread

Darth Vader returns for 3 episodes.

 

Here's a wild prediction:

Escaping from the Imperials, the Ghost encounters a nebula that is producing a temporary disruption in the space-time continuum. They pass through it, and end up close to Earth (of course, why not?), in year 1961. They secretly land in British Hong Kong where they meet Ip Man. Ip Man, having faced the invasion of foreign powers twice, quickly relates to the rebel cause and joins them. The Ghost goes back to the nebula and returns to the Galaxy far, far away; however, this bumpy trip makes Ip Man lose his sight. On arrival, Ip Man changes his name Chirrut Îmwe and fills up a job application as guardian of the Whills.
Deep in my heart, Ip Man, Ip Man 2, and Ip Man 3 should be considered as an unofficial prequel trilogy to Rogue One. Perfect background story for Chirrut.
(FYI They're still in Netflix).

 

Hopefully they'll finish out the Inquisitor storyline (here's to hoping that Starkiller is an Inquisitor of sorts!), I'd like to see Doctor Aphra make an appearance, just because it'd be weird and awesome. More multi-episode arcs. Personally, I hope that the attack on Lothal is one of the last episodes of the series. I'd imagine it'd take place either right after Scariff. That way, they could justify why the Rebels crew wasn't on the Death Star attack, and have, like, four major space battle/war/fight episodes in a row. It'd be beautiful!

 

I don't see them using the character of Starkiller as an Inquisitor just because they used the name for the base. I think it would be confusing on why they would name a superweapon base after that character and not the Emperor or Vader, if that makes sense. I would love to see Doctor Aphra make an appearance that would be so cool, along with maybe some Rogue One characters like Cassian or K2. I hope they do give some general idea of where Thrawn is headed...personally I want to see him go off to the Unknown regions and meet Snoke (I know a pipe dream haha).

 

Yoda & Obi Wan makes another appearance.

Since we know it's the last season,what you guys think will take the place handled by Rebels? My guess is on a show after ROTJ, seems to be the safest choice.

As to the trailer, Hera's beginning monologue sounds very sad. Someone under the YT video thought she gave that speech on..a funeral. Don't know what to think of it.

How would that even work

 

Not very well...not very well...

 

We forget, Ahsoka has the essence of the Daughter in her. And her name was originally "Ashla."

Perhaps, instead of becoming one with the force or maintaining her consciousness, Ahsoka found some way to incarnate herself as some sort of Force Beast? People are hypothesizing that Bendu is dead/gone, and Ahsoka will take over as "the" Bendu, having already stated that she is neither Jedi nor Sith. This, of course, supposes that the Bendu's form was something he chose to have.

 

There will definitely be some splaining to do.

 

My predictions for the final fate of the crew:

Ezra decides/realizes that he was never really a Jedi, and leaves the Rebellion to try and help people in his own way.

Sabine lives, but returns to the Mandalorians to help Bo-Katan (who becomes Mandalore) as her right-hand woman in the reclamation of Mandalorian space.

Zeb dies in battle or leaves to help lead his people.

Chopper is destroyed making a heroic sacrifice, his first and last moment of unambiguous compassion for others.

AP-5 gets shuffled off to help another Rebel cell.

Kallus becomes head of Rebel Intelligence or dies.

Kanan dies, probably after reaffirming his position as a Jedi Knight, and then says that he has been running from the fate of the Jedi for too long or that he has been separated from his master for too long.

Hera is left alone and broken, possibly after Kanan confesses his love for her. She leaves the Rebellion to commit herself to helping her father finally liberate Ryloth.

 

I think the season finale is Scarif. And come on, that narration by Hera does not paint a rosy picture.

Phew that's a relief, I was beginning to think the RO's & Ghost's fate had been tied into one.

 

I confess to being a wee bit disappointed by that, I really wanted to see the Battle of Scarif from the Ghost crew's perspective. Maybe we'll get to see that in some sort of hour-long epilogue episode after Season 4 wraps up?

 

I understand Filoni's point that he doesn't want to end the series with an event that has already been seen.
