Hey, at first I thought that Sabine is using like a prototype Logo of the Rebellion because at this time they just use that. But now I realised that SHE actually is the creator of the Logo. Because at this time there is a long term plan as mentioned in Out of Darkness and Sabine knowns very little about it. So she cant know the "real" Symbol because there is none!

Sabine, the Creator of the Rebel Symbol.(as you can see on her armor)

Amazing how they are using Sabine. I mean now she has a HUGE Impact into the whole Star Wars Universe.

not knowing the plan, doesnt necessarily mean she is completely unfamiliar with other aspects of the rebellion.

I also think that the logo has some historical significance and may not be unique to the rebellion... like, she may have based her symbol on the same symbol the rebellion baseed their symbol, for similiar reasons.

But, she is the creative part of the current Rebellion that we know of so far.
So I think that it is not unrealistic that she is the creator of it. Also we have so far only seen the symbol on her armor or on stuff she painted.

The symbol that Sabine graffitis looks like a winged bird, a firebird, or a phoenix.

Wikipedia: The symbol of the Alliance is the "Starbird", the symbol of the Marek Family chosen by Leia Organa in dedication of Galen Marek and also because it appeared as a "symbol of hope". This is based on events from The Force Unleashed video game.

Yes, it is not considered canon. It is possible that she created it but we don't really know. Maybe they will delve into it in Rebels at some point, giving the symbol some history and real meaning, or reason why it was chosen for the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

But then Galen needed to be a Mandalorian, and he is not one I guess?
And they would need to canonize the Marek familiy then. But I doubt that, it could be more likely a smybol like the fish of the christians. A secret symbol that could only be recognized by members of the Rebellion.

Maybe Sabine will sacrifice herself for the rebellion's cause before the end, martyring herself, and causing the rebels take up a version of her symbol as their flag?

Clone Wars killed people off regularly. Not main characters, but they had no problem dropping innocents off a cliff, or killing young'ns and jedi. Although, I do fear you are right. So far rebels seems to have less guts in that realm. Playing it a bit more safe with Disney than Clone Wars did on TCN.

Kanan has the symbol on his right shoulder as well. I thought it was there way of showing off their allegiance, but, no one else knew what it meant yet.
