Just wondering what you guys hail as your own personal saddest death in the entire series? which one gets to you and still makes you upset? Lots have been been struck down throughout the six films but for me I still to this day get emotional whenever that darned ewok dies in Return of The Jedi! I mist up something stupid lol, far cooler characters pass like Obi-Wan and Yoda but theres something so horribly sad with the ewok dying. The heart wrenching sound that his buddy makes when he tries to wake him up and realizes that he's gone.

hmmm.. I think the saddest death on screen has to be when the youngling asks Anakin for help right before being killed. its almost hard to watch.

It always gets me when Luke holds Vader's hand at the end of ROTJ.

When I was little, I was determined not to cry when Beru and Owen died in ANH. I correctly predicted Yoda wouldn't last through ROTJ, and while it wasn't unexpected, it was pretty sad to see poor ole Yoda shuffling to his comfy little Dagobah bed one last time. :(

Well, if you count Legends it would have to be the big unspeakable death in Vector Prime.

Otherwise, I would probably go with the younglings D:

While there are a lot of sad deaths in SW (including that surprisingly moving ewok one you mention), I feel like the crown has to go to Anakin at the end of RotJ, and it's mostly because that is *Anakin* dying there, not Darth Vader.

His funeral pyre scene a bit later is also very moving and touching.

I think one of the saddest deaths is that of Ki-Adi-Mundi. That look on his face as he saw his troops getting ready to take him down is just sad. Mundi was the only Jedi that had a chance to try to defend himself since all the others were suckerpunched and seeing him die trying to defend himself while knowing he was beeing betrayed by his very own men is just downright sad.

Probably Yoda. Luke is so alone at that moment. Always gets to me. But good call on those who said random ewok #2. No one wants to watch a teddy bear suffer.

Also, honorable mention to poor Admiral Piett. Guy does everything he's supposed to. Rises through the ranks like a good soldier. Somehow manages to not get killed by Vader after losing the Falcon. But ends up dying in a Kamikaze terrorist attack inside the most well defended ship in the Imperial fleet. The thankless and short life of an imperial officer.

Darth Maul. So much potential squandered.

I really disliked the way Maul was portrayed in the Clone Wars. He went from silent assassin to stereotypical villain who monologues and twirls his mustache. So I just ignore those arcs.

So I guess it's the "On a certain point of view" rule.

So in a sense it is true Darth Maul died... from a certain point of view.

EDIT: Haha Bandini beat me to it!

Doesn't anybody feel sad for the poor 2-1B that even cried out in pain as he met his doom by dismemberment in Jabba's dungeon? 176566.jpg

LOl, I actually do. I always comment on it when the scene comes up. But I actually end up feeling more bad for the poor Gonk droid that is getting is feet burnt. When he's begging no.

Hey now that you mention the Gonk Droid, isn't it a little odd that that droid is screaming ''no'' when the only sounds those droids can make are electronic sounds and the tipical ''gonk'' sound?

Obiwan in the Original SW. When he gives Luke that quick smile before holds up his lightsaber while Vader goes to strike him down.
