I have a local Target, Walmart and ToysRUs and have never seen these certain TFA figures?

Kylo Ren Unmasked, Admiral Akbar, Ungar Platt. Ive only seen Han and Resistance Rey once and luckily I snatched up 2 each of them?

Why is it so hard to find certain figures in stores? Did they underproduce them? Does it mean they may actually be worth something in the future?

I have two Targets and Two Walmarts within 5 miles of where I live and they have the same leftover stuff from Christmas. Without putting them on clearance, there is no room on the shelf for new waves.

I've only seen Resistance Rey once, on the day of the DVD release, and I bought it.

A lot of it depends on where you live. The coasts gets theirs sooner than the middle of the country. Main characters are vastly underproduced. There is a small supply for a great demand.

Also, in a collector's market new items get snatched up and sold online while the demand is fresh. That's when money is to be made on them. Buying cases online through places like Entertainment Earth is your best bet, if you can afford it. Just be careful of online ordering through nonspecialty stores as they most likely will arrive damaged. I had bought the Black series Rey (Starkiller base) Exclusive from KMart online and it came wraped in a clothing shipping bag and not in a box, and was smashed in numerous places. The Takodana encounter 3.75 set I ordered 2 from Toys R Us online and both came damaged from the lack of packing in the box.
All were returned and then bought in store.

I myself have been wondering why the lack of figures. I live in Puerto Rico and I have a Toys R Us close by as well as various Wallmarts, K-Marts, Wallgreens and varios collector stores that mainly sell SW figures and it is the same here. Though I didn't love TFA, I do love SW figures and seeing how well the movie did I expected there to be tons of merchandise about the movie.

There were plenty of things at first but suddenly everything just fell short like if nobody cared much about TFA to make any more toys. Seeing as how the action figures and creatures of the past six movies sold and seeing how they have made even the EXTREMELY minor characters, you would expect figures of Luke, Leia and various aliens from Maz Kanata's castle to already have hit the shelves as well as a Happabore and a Luggabeast figure yet this has not been the case.

In a world where many of us have such super awesome figures such as Aunt Beru, Uncle Owen, Shmi Skywalker and Wuher, I would have expected much more from TFA figures but these are nowhere to be found. What also bothers me is that they gave us figures of Constable Zuvio (who was cut from the film) and Sarco Plank (who though I really like, was only like two seconds in the movie) but they haven't made a Leia figure.

These are some of the characters and creatures that would really make my day yet how things are going I think most of them will never see the light of day as figures.

I have thought the same. Kenner would have made some awesome figures! Can you imagine a Kylo Ren shuttle?! Over the weekend I went to a Walmart Supercenter in a small town, and they ARE selling TFA figures on clearance now. I got the Rey "fudge pop" vehicle for only $5!

It's just as you say my friend. Kenner would have indeed made lots of things by now. Though it's really simple in design, I would love it if they made an Atmospheric Assault Lander as I just love vehicles that can carry many figures.

That would be a great vehicle to have. I too wanted these 2 figures
upload_2016-5-31_10-16-48.png ...but make them well articulated, to pose them like this; bendable knees, shoulders, and elbows.

Where i live, i have 3 Walmarts, a target, a Kmart, and a shopko, not one store has received a new shipment of new figures since Feb. we have mostly 2nd wave figs. As for the black series, no new figs since December. It is disappointing.

I got an Amazon.com gift certificate as a present so I bought Unmasked Kylo Ren & Stormtrooper Finn 3.75 and got them in today. I haven't seen either of these in any of my local retail stores, so this was my only option.

Yes this is indeed very disappointing and more so with Rogue One being just a few months away! My hopes for getting cool new TFA figures keep going down the drain every moment that RO gets closer as I just know that all focus will go to that movie and none to TFA.

You know, this post got me thinking. Sure one one side it's going to be awesome to have a new SW movie each year as we can look forward to great new movies yet on the other side it's really going to suck for us collectors as many obscure characters that we loved from the movies will never see the light of day. What chances do we have of getting figures of these guys:

When the new movies are going to be popping up each year? Imagine how few figures we would have of the Cantina or of the dudes from Jabba's palace if there would have been a new SW movie each year? Guys like Hrchek Kal Fas, Amanaman, Leesub Sirln or Tanus Spijek would never have seen the light of day had this been the case and this really is a downer as there are still many OT figures that have never been made and now I'm guessing they won't get done with the new a movie a year plan. :(

A lot figures on clearance around here in Midwest America. Wal-Mart here has most BS figures 25% off, and looks like none of them are really flying off the shelves. I think they are just too pricey for the most part, especially on the vehicles. Also, too many of the same figure, and no figures of other characters that I would've liked to collect.

Distribution is a huge problem with Hasbro. Add to that stores will not order the next wave until they have the room, meaning they have sold down or out of the last wave. To us, it is frustrating that they don't have the latest figure. To a retail store, it is merchandise they have to clearance out or sit on and pay taxes on. So, if your local stores are not moving the second wave, it is very unlikely you will see the last wave of TFA. I live on the Gulf coast and have been collecting for 4 years. What I gather from every line, is the first wave comes in abundance. The stores think they've got a gold mine because they sell out, so they order another first wave. Half of that sells. So the store reluctantly orders more, if it's a higher volume store. By the time the next wave comes out, the second wave hasn't moved enough for the store to order more, so they don't. It's happened every year so far.

I finally gave up on the last wave of Han, Rey, and unmasked Kylo, so I went to ebay. Got Han and Rey at a good enough price. Still looking for Kylo.

still looking for BS Hux. have gotten everybody else.
not sure why he's so scarce; seems like he would be the Kenner Lobot of this series, but obviously i have underestimated him ~ hahaha

That line disappeared quickly. Maybe because they were all new figures (if I remember right).

yeah, it was wave 4 and i found all the other characters in that wave, but no Hux. mrgggh.

i got the wave 5 stuff already, so apparently i have missed the boat.
not sure how determined i have to pursue it since i'm too lazy/disinclined to buy it online, but it's irritating to miss that one last piece. hahahaha

lots of x-wing Poe and guavian death gang guys last time i went looking. some Finns, a couple of Kylo Rens. no snowtroopers, which is one i don't have that i guess i might not mind getting (i like the regular stormtroopers more and bought two of them). apparently i got lucky with Rey, Chewie, Han, and Phasma since they all seem very scarce as well.
