There are many wonderful aspects to TFA - but this thread isn't the place to discuss them! ;)

Snoke CG and the CG in general.
Luke at the end. Standing there saying nothing.
    Everything happening WAAAY too fast.
Han should have died in 8. Their relationship needed to be established better.
Too much happening. We're given very little chance to take it all in. Mainly relating to the characters.

Excellent fast paced movie. Only Snoke wa slightly disappointing. I cringed and squirmed my way through the prequels but there was none of that in this movie. The acting of Daisy and John was MUCH better than I was expecting and the whole thing fizzed along at a frenetic pace. Can't wait to go back and see it again on Sunday .

I wasn't impressed with the character exposition in Han and Leia's catch up scene. I kinda missed their witty banter, snappy verbal barbs, and their taking turns leading/following each other. I think Kasbram might have done better with a little more time.
[EDIT: I no longer feel strongly about this after subsequent re-watching.]

Some of the acting (eye acting) seemed a little melodramatic (the takes they selected for Han's death). Some glances leaned toward being too drawn out for my liking (Rey interrogation vs Kylo, Rey vs Luke) but it is a space opera for kids after all.

EDIT: I was surprised Chewie didn't acknowledge Leia first thing after the Falcon returns from Starkiller. No eye contact or hug, just preoccupation with Finn (who had looked after him but was receiving plenty of attention). I thought the big dog would go straight to give some solace/acknowledgment to the mother of Han's kid/murderer.

I was disappointed about some too obvious dialogues.

For example: "They are aboard Millenium Falcon. WITH your father. ... HAN SOLO" - DAMMIT!! OK, ok... ENOUGH! You don't have to SPELL EVERYTHING to us. We have our brain and sometimes we'd like to use it. Jesus...

Also, I have been disappointed of Starkiller being blew up already. Well... Atleast I have no idea what will be Episode 8 like. I just hope they don't make another robo-planet in the course of two years.

Then Finn or Poe will be frozen in carbonite
9 will be the rescue of Finn or Poe then they attack Starkiller 2 while receiving help from ewoks

I'm more disappointed by what I didn't see than why I did see.

There's so many things that go unexplained in the movie. I left the movie with more questions than I went in with. Kylo's identity is basically the only thing that was revealed.

I can live with not know much about Snoke or Rey at this point in time, but...

Not knowing how Lor San Tekka obtained the map piece, and how the Resistance and First Order knew about him stuff in the first place...
Not knowing what Han was doing near Jakku, and how those gangs located him there...
Not knowing how Maz ended up with Luke's lightsaber is going to bug me endlessly...

These things are going to bug me endlessly, and make it difficult to enjoy the movie as much as I would otherwise.

The Lor San Tekka mystery will probably bug me the most. He sets everything in motion, after all. I would like an explanation, please.

I was also a little annoyed with another trench run tbh.

But, other than that, I loved it :)

But isn't this how ANH was? That was a big part of the attraction. What the hell was this Republic, and how did the Empire take over? What happened to the rest of the Jedi, who were supposedly the guardians of the Republic? Who is this unseen 'emperor' character? What's the deal with Darth Vader? Is he a robot of some kind? What's the story behind his betrayal and murder of Luke's father? And so on...

But these are exactly the kinds of questions that tantalized audiences. They made for the sense of this rich world of which we only see a small part - an endless galaxy with any number of worlds and species, a long history reaching back into an obscure past. This was what inspired a real sense of wonder.

My question to you: isn't your frustration kind of inspiring? I can already imagine all of the many discussions and speculations that will fire up this forum in the coming months as we wait for episode VIII. It will be so much fun!!!

Just saw the movie once but there are things that I dislike as:

All that sequence with the guavian and the kanjiklub gang and those stupid big aliens...
The movie, sometimes, looks like a remake of ANH.

Unquestionably my greatest frustration. I just find the plot extremely disappointing. I really don't care for the fact that they basically did yet another Death Star with a trench run. Even if the did the whole Rey - New Hope thing, that seemed like overkill. It reminds me of the whole Wrath of Khan mirror scene in Star Trek Into Darkness. Still, it's exactly what I expected from Abrams, and at least the actual action, acting and humour makes up for the repetitive plot.

my only gripes were the music wasnt quite as epic as it could have been.. and the new themes are a little messy and don't stand out as well as the original themes.. perhaps they will grow on me.
some of the dialogue between han and leia didnt feel very natural.. but some did.
sometimes the film felt a little rushed.. a little at the beginning and a little at the end. i would rather the movie was a few minutes longer just so that those few scenes didn't feel rushed.

finn is awesome.. rey is awesome.. han's death was sad but necessary i guess.. perhaps it could have happened in the next movie.. but that scene was one of the most memorable .. kylo ren has some serious issues.
overall though i have little to complain about.. it was a rollercoaster ride of real star wars... i genuinely laughed out loud when bb-8 gave the thumbs up.

The script, so definitely the script. I almost can't believe that this is what they ended up with after all this hard work trying to revive the franchise. I am sure we'll have Episode VII rewrites sooner rather than later.

Now, the dialogue is fine and there are even a few quotables [TM] but the story is an unfocused mess of homages and copying of the classic trilogy, in which the stakes are supposedly higher than ever and it falls flat (especially the Starkiller Base plot). The script needed to be a little more character-driven and a little less gonzo action. The first part of the film delivered the perfect mix. Toward the end it was just... I don't know. I guess I have to see it again (and again) to absorb it all. Its a dense movie, considering how thin the story is. Spectacle more than a true continuation.

I wanted the film to make me think, after seeing it, "Right! I can't imagine any other way this could have been improved. This is definitely the ongoing story of Star Wars."
