    You're right, but only sometimes?

I voted for overall story, because it is to similar to ANH.
The weird thing is I love ANH and always thought more of this kind of movie could never be a bad idea, but I was wrong.
More originality would not have been hurt.
In my opinion TFA is more or less unnecessery, VIII will be the true succsessor to RTOJ. (TFA is a warm up)

I have the feeling that many people shy away to say that they are disappointed with the movie and that they don't like it.
Don't fear the flak, without criticism there is no progress.

It didn't dissapoint me at all. Maybe the story could've been a bit more original and creative, and the Kanji club scene was a little bit off, but as an opening chapter of a trilogy it was good imo.
To me a film is dissapointing if I dont want to rewatch it and/or its following chapters, like Batman v Superman for instance. Now that was a very dissapoing flick to me, and I completly lost my interesst towards the DCEU, thats for sure.
TFA hoked me back to the SW universe and I'm really looking forward to the next ones.

Kanjiklub Space asians. Why do they group together. Is there an exclusively asian planet in the galaxy? That's racist.

My only gripe, now git recked.

Biggest concern, after much reflection, is the Luke issue. They know we all want more screen time with the Last Jedi, and the intentionally withheld him to make us invest in the new characters. But, I just think they went about it the wrong way. Now, a lot of background exposition is necessary to make Luke look like he isn't afraid to face his failure, or a horribly absent father. I just get irritated reading pre-TFA interviews with JJ, and hear him speak about "who is Luke Skywalker", and think, you never took a risk to answer that question. They didn't know which direction to take, it appears, in creating a new generation of Skywalker children, until the cameras were rolling and he and Kasdan are sitting there making last minute changes. And then, to use Luke as the voiceover for the trailer, to allude that he would be prominent in the film, was also a massive misdirection to the fans. One can maintain the Mystery Box without misleading the paying audience into believing they are paying to see more of what they love, only to be told that comes later, maybe.

I just don't understand this movie, for some reason it's missing something, or someone

I think it is rather a letdown.. visually. The outer space stuff was pretty two-dimensional, the planets were bland, 'new' vehicles and ships were uninspired, and not enough aliens (too many humans milling around the Resistance and the First Order).
