I did it this way because when I asked about if posting a support France thread would be appropriate or not I knew it would not be seen in the correct forum to post it in. So I did it this way. People can use them or not use them. Cool? Cool.

The reason behind this is that this is a film that will most likely be loved by fans and general audience but disliked by some critics. Some critics will think the film unoriginal, a rehash of ANH. I am not bothered by this because I can understand the need of our new heroes mirroring the lives of our older heroes. The meat will actually be the twists. What if the Resistance fails to destroy Starkiller Base? What if something is revealed that changes everything? As far as we know, this film only mimics ANH, but I am pretty sure that is misdirection until the film actually shows whats really up.

Sorry for the missunderstanding, I meant not you, the off topic statement was directed to someone else. (my mistake)
About the condolence, it's a nice gesture, but the families of the victims, I guess nothing helps if a loved one gets killed.
These cowardly ongoing terror attacks since years, it's so sickening and I get angry all the time when I hear about it.

Oh it's cool bro, no worries. As for those savages............they don't deserve the minute amount of energy it takes to mention them on this keypad.

    Agree.

A third Death Star is....I dunno, unoriginal.
I find it weird that JJ is so extremely confident that everyone will love this movie when it seems pretty clear that there will be some criticism about the lack of originality or mimicking ANH.
This is the only thing I'm having an issue with...

At this point, it seems pretty clear that it'll be a great Star Wars movie. I'm not confident that it'll be a particularly original or fresh film.

My vote is also the 3rd Death Star. Sort of a little kick to the ... when I first saw the poster. Started to get a tad nervous about the direction of the film. I kind of don't want a "I'm you father' moment either. But for me the way they handle Luke and connect Snoke will make or break the movie for me. All the other stuff will be great. Can't go wrong with storm troopers and all.

The only thing so far that has made me really cringe is Death Star 3.

I'm hoping and praying JJ has somethign up his sleeve and this Starkiller Base thing is not as it appears.

Because I find it almost laughable if they're going to throw out another Death Star.

Maybe Starkiller base / planet is inhabited with innocent people and the weapon is tied into the core of the plant. Destroying the weapon means destroying the planet. Sacrifice a plant to save the galaxy. That would be a brutal decision.

The off-topic went more for the suggestion in your OP that seems to have been removed that the Paris attack was a false flag operation. While yes it is appropriate to express sympathy wherever you would like in the various threads, going into Alex Jones territory in my opinion is not. So no it wasn't in retaliation for whatever post you put a negative mark on mine. I actually understood people would not like the opinion I put forth and didn't mind the negative mark. The only time I do mind them is when the negative mark seems to be for irrational reasons, and even then if the other person explains them, which usually takes place in private messages I generally just go about my business.

my disappointment was that BB-8's head didn't fly off by the explosion on Jakku! XD No no just kidding :) everything looks great and i can't wait.

I can'tbe worried at the moment. I do not know the details of like Starkiller Base. First i want to see how different it is from the Death Star. I want to go to the movie judgement free and not going to make me worried or disappointed in advance. It could downgrade my enjoyment of the movie and that is not an option in my book :p

You know, I started out as very, very very skeptical about this project. The wounds the prequel trilogy inflicted upon my mind are still raw, a decade after Revenge of the Sith. No, my childhood wasn't raped (because I wasn't a child when the films came out) and it wasn't retroactively raped, but I could not grasp that trilogy on an intellectual or emotional level, nor was I able to appreciate anything beyond a few scenes scattered throughout.
No wonder I was skeptical about The Force Awakens, and in a sense I still am - on the one hand, each teaser, trailer and TV spot - anything with moving images really - has me more excited as the actors look and sound spot on, yet on the other hand the rumors about the plot and character arcs have me wondering whether we're getting a new story or a reboot.

At any rate, The Force Awakens' revealed five minutes or so of footage has already far surpassed the prequels for me and as such I'm happy with it so far. JJ Abrams stated in an interview a week or so ago that he was happy with the release and the fan excitement because he feels that the rest of the movie is as cool as the footage we've seen, and that, too, gives me hope despite the lackluster plotting (if all the rumors, particularly those found here and at Making Star Wars) are true.

Right, capping off this post with a short list:

    1. The plot rehashing elements from the original trilogy
    2. Prequel infection (pod racer flags already confirmed)
    3.Leia's hairdo on the poster
    4. Admiral Ackbar (never liked this particular character)
    5. Kylo Ren's mask

If it is official that the ultimate villain or antagonist is an alien, I'd consider this as quite a xenophobic letdown.

One of the things I always loved about the OT (and this retroactively applies partially to the PT) was that the ultimate villain, the Emperor, was a human being.
It was a civil war, mostly (ANH and ESB) fought by humans. It had this connotation "Even in space, the ultimate enemy is man".

Add to this what I always perceived as a xenophobic, racist attitude of the Galactic Empire which recruited only humans, but no aliens that apparently were second or third class Imperial citizens.

And now the ultimate antagonist is an alien? - D'oh!

I think the only thing coming soon is actual spoilers that Disney may put out. They have done a great job trying not to ruin plot points, but I feel these other companies doing commercials may ruin something. That whole thing with BB-8 and Chewbacca made me feel like we were watching something straight out of a Starkiller Base scene. I really hope that is not the case. So you could say I am worried about other company's pushing their products with some TFA elements attached that may touch on plot lines we really don't need to see until the movie release. Also, ONE MONTH UNTIL TFA!!!!

I might agree with that on some small level, but have you noticed that the PT AND the OT were essentially the same base story framework with different characters?

Does that mean that you're not going to see the movie??

I can't follow. The Adventures of Luke Skywalker (OT) were a classic in terms of telling the Heroes Journey aka Monomyth according to Joseph Campbell and James Joyce.

It always looked to me as if George Lucas deliberately wanted to dare the experiment of showcasing the antithesis in the PT rather than to use the same "formula" again.

I'm rather confident that the ST will use the original Campbell formula, again: Call to Adventure etc., etc.
