In 1996, I remember seeing the commercials for Shadow of the Empire, but at the time, I was investing all my money into my publishing business and buying art supplies. I bought the book but didn't have time to read it... I missed out on all those Star Wars video games for trying to be a responsible adult...

Also I read a book, which outlined how the gaming industry led to the demise of Marvel Comics ( they sold Spiderman, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four because they were going bankrupt). Kids were buying video games instead of comic books, and the comic book industry was crashing.

...So since I was publishing comic books I boycotted video games.

Years later I went out and bought an Original Xbox so I could play KOTOR. I couldn't believe that a Star Wars video game was getting so many awards... I had to get it and I've been playing Star Wars games ever since... I wish I had jumped on earlier, though. I missed out on some great games...

I remember seeing the TV ad for Shadows of the Empire and being completely blown away!

I have first and foremost always been SEGA fan and even though I owned the Saturn at the time, there was no way that I wasn't going to buy an N64. The N64 was a great console for Star Wars games so much so that a few years later I bought a Gamecube to partner my Sega Dreamcast which itself had a few decent Star Wars games.

Once Sega stopped making consoles I switched to Xbox, which I have been with ever since. Sadly though I never really liked any of the Star Wars games on any of the Xbox consoles, I don't know why but the battlefront games show little interest for me as I prefer to have an exciting story.

Thats why Shadows of the Empire remains to this day as one of my favourite ever games.

Favorite level was the junk level. I must have played it a hundred times trying to defeat IG-88. When I discovered the invincible pack, I took down IG-88 and felt ten feet tall.
