Taking pictures is a habit of mine, tbh fam. I'm more into taking pictures of landscape rather than people. I don't know, I guess having an actual person in the photo shifts focus away from my intended subject.

These were taken near the Sam Adams Brewery in Boston. When you get off the T and head a few blocks to the brewery there is a cool place that does welded sculptures. not a bad place to check out if you live near the area.

This was taken at Grant Park in Chicago. Its been a while since I was there but I think it was near Millennium Park.

Here's a panorama that I took on the Appalachian Trail, just north of Harper's Ferry, WV. Looking over the Potomac river.

Thanks a lot! These were taken several years ago with my old Canon EOS Rebel. They were all taken from the deck of my second floor apartment. The robins had built a nest on the downspout right next to the balcony. I was literally about 6 feet away. Had to use a remote shutter switch so that I didn't scare them away. :)

these are from my trip to Tennessee.. one of the most beautiful states I have ever had the please of visiting. I got this picture of the corn field, but I never did get any good ones of the tobacco farms. miles and miles of green for as far as the eye could see. Id give anything to go back to that summer. good times.

Here in Connecticut I used to row with an adaptive rowing team. people with disabilities like blindness, stroke, amputation, etc. My partner's name was Sarah, she's legally blind and was a former school teacher.

I dabbled for a bit in photography on deviantART. Haven't been there in years though. Some of my faves from being on there though...

I tend to generally take photos of either unsuspecting people (in a non-negative way, I assure) or I mess around with abstract types of things. My camera's been broken for a long, long time though.

(yeah, watermarks, all that. I can't be bothered to find the originals on my PC at the moment)

Nice thread idea. I dabbled briefly in photography about a year ago and then the refurb camera I got broke on me after only 6 months or so and I just got around to fixing it last week. Can't wait for some good weather to take it back out again.

Here's a few old ones from me.

All of those were taken with my refurbished Nikon D3200.

Nearly all of those are from within a couple miles of my house in Northern New Jersey. That river runs about a block from my house, and the others were taken at a local farm near me.

Exceptions being, the bottom three which were taken on my vacation to Orlando last year. And the 5th from the bottom (the picture of that sunny valley) which was taken in the Catskills in Upstate NY.

B&H is a good source for refurb products. Camera worked perfectly for a while. I initially got pissed when it broke, and then threw it aside for a while. But all it ended up needing was a good wet cleaning for the DSLR sensor and that was likely due to my own poor quality maintenance. So, I'd definitely endorse a refurb purchase from a reputable place like B&H or Adorama if you are looking to upgrade.

Real trick when you go full DSLR is in the lenses. Most of those pictures above were taken with a Tokina 11-16mm which is great glass for a cropped sensor camera if you are looking to do landscapes. But great lenses can get a bit pricey and suddenly that 300 refurbed camera turns into $1k plus in purchases if you get a few lenses and accessories.
