My reasoning: back in the 80s, when classic movies were being colorized, Lucas was one of the most vocal activists opposing the practice - all the way to congress. He was mortified at the idea of a feckless corporation altering an artist’s work without their consent.

I’d be pretty stupefied if this same guy hadn’t somehow taken steps to protect his own work from this exact thing. That’s not proof of anything. It just stands to reason is all.

Well that's a bit different because he was protecting the original prints and artistic integrity of the directors and probably thought that, by colorizing them, then they wouldn't be viewed as intended. With George continuously editing his work, he is changing them to how he originally viewed them at s time when certain things weren't possible. With Disney going back and changing things, they would be editing the films to what they think is right and not what George think she is right which is why, regardless of what anyone thinks, is that reason why, as you said, he's obviously taken as many legal steps to protect his work. This is actually why I believe Disney has pretty much made their own "Star Wars" with the sequel trilogy because they can't legally go back and change anything that doesn't hold up unless they work directly with GL.

Should I disagree with you because it wasn't any good in the first place? Cheese in a can of Star Wars.
