    Um, Luke isn't on that poster? Or were you asking in reverse?

    Even if he was on the poster, I wouldn't have had a problem with it, one the major storylines is all about finding him. Movie begins and ends with it.

    Yeah, why not?

    The poster is not just selling the movie, but the upcoming trilogy.

    If people are only going to go to see "Luke Skywalker" then I really doubt they would want to avoid the first movie which sets up his return in the second.

    And his character is a main plot point of the movie.

    I don't think it matters.

    No and im glad he was not. They used him perfectly in this movie by letting his legacy be his presence and not his person. That being said i do hope he is on the poster for episode 8.

    The only way Luke could have been in the poster is as a vague semi-transparent profile around everyone with his back turned so you couldn't see his face.

    I don't like the poster and I guess with Luke in it, it would not be any better.

    I think from an actual poster perspective it doesn't particularly matter, but from a marketing perspective he defenitely should not be on there.
    How many times did you hear people asking where Luke was regarding the advertising campaign?

    Since they dont have Han anymore for the marketing it would be smart to advertise Luke the way they did Han in this one because hes the only one from the original trilorgy who can fill that gap.

    Like Harrison Ford said in a Jimmy Kimmel interview ''there wasn't room'', maybe because they knew the focus would be on those revealed first in the trailer & I they are saving him for better posters in episode 8.

    The lack of Luke on the poster just added to the perfect marketing of the movie. Both the audience and the characters in the movie were asking "Where is Luke?".
