Should prequel fans demand more content?

Should Disney put more out more content set in the prequel era?

  1. Yes, it’s an era of Star Wars that has shown little support recently

I love the prequels as without them the story wouldn’t be as rich as it is now. I would love to see a full development story of anakin growing up through the ranks of a padawan on Disney+. But it is a lot to ask and not everyone might agree with me.

Demand more PT content? Absolutely not!
Hope for more PT content? Absolutely!

Personally, I'd prefer to see some of the other eras get some extra TV/movie love (which it looks like we'll get, at least with the gap spanning the OT & ST), but I'd gladly watch more PT (and that's my least favorite era thus far, which does not mean I can't love it).

But fans demanding stuff of the artists and creators? Nope, not so much, thank you.

Aimed at kids perhaps, but it has as much depth and emotion than anything else in the entire saga.

In terms of writing, TCW at its best is better than anything any of the movies have to offer.

Whenever fans demand something, it’s usually pretty cringeworthy and toxic (cough cough Snyder Cut). And as we all know, there’s enough toxicity in the Star Wars fandom.

I don’t see any drought in prequel content personally. We’ve gotten our fair share of comics set there, tons of books, and there are tons of connections and references to the era, especially in media such as Rebels and Jedi: Fallen Order. Are we getting as much as the OT? No and frankly, I’m kinda sick of the Rebels Vs Empire narrative at this point.

Personally, I don’t see what else they can do for the Prequel era that will really interest me personally. I’m not that interested in the gap between TPM and AOTC and the Clone Wars era has been pretty extensively covered. I wouldn’t be opposed to adaptations of Dark Disciple, Son of Dathomir, and some of the other unfinished TCW arcs being released as animated movies on Disney+, but that’s all that I really “want” right now.

I’m just more interested to see what stories that the Story Group wants to tell right now, rather than necessarily when it takes place.

All be honest I don’t think there is any room for content between 2-3 anymore featuring the main characters. I think where we could get plenty of cool new stories is between 1-2. There is a ten year gap there barely explored in Legends or Canon.

Half of the new Disney production have been in the PT era (the era before the OT began)
Solo, Rebels, Rogue One and the clone wars revival all occur before the OT making them PT

Is it a ridiculous technicality? Sure. But the OT is the most overlooked with 0 things occurring within the time from of the OT

Except most of the comics. The main Star Wars comics, two of the three Vader comics, and a majority of the spin-offs all occur within the OT timeframe.

Sure, for technicality (and meme) purposes they may be PT, but in aesthetics, all but one of these is OT to the core. Solo purposefully foregoes the shiny PT look for an older, dirtier OT look; Rogue One happens literally within minutes of the OT, so it's really not fair to categorize it as PT; and Rebels uses that Ralph McQuarrie artwork that the OT was based off of. These were all designed to fit in with the OT look, and I think that's what separates them from the PT more so than the timeframe. Add in the ST and possibly the Bad Batch, and you'll find that the OT has the most sought-after aesthetic in all of Star Wars.

I always saw Solo, Rebels, and Rogue One as being in the OT timeframe rather than PT timeframe, since they're all after RotS, and the Galactic Empire has risen to power. Rebels and Rogue One in particular have a similar 'Rebellion vs. Empire' conflict to the OT films, making them distinct from anything in the PT. Conversely, RotS feels like the grand finale of the PT era.

I would rather just have content not set in the PT or OT or ST. Move into the past or future. That’s where the new stories are

^I mostly agree with that, yeah. The only PT-related thing I'm longing for at this point is, as I mentioned earlier, to still finish the unproduced Clone Wars episodes, even if it seems unlikely now. I suspect some of those ideas will instead be reincorporated into The Bad Batch, but I still kinda wish we could've seen what the original story arcs would've been like.

Personally, i think that the PT and other pre-empire type content is perfect. The three prequel films worked well to introduce the Clone Wars and develop Anakin Skywalker along with Obi-Wan Kenobi. With Star Wars the Clone Wars, we got a better look at Jedi, Clones, Bounty Hunters, planets, and other content that helped diversify Star Wars. I believe that there is never enough content. But, I think it is hard to be disappointed with what we got in that era. I do believe that adding some kind of Old Republic film/show would be great and would add more depth, but I also do believe that what we have is “good enough.”

in short, i love this era and think that it gets a good amount of coverage, but there is never too much content. This doesn’t mean i am dissatisfied, but I would not be upset if a new film or series released that covered different aspects of the era in which the Prequels and the Clone Wars lived.

There are unlimited stories to tell and we haven't seen a lot of CW live-action which I think would be awesome. I think before we get more content ab those it owuld be nice to get an Old Republic... well anything. Either way though, I would be happy. I think the further we explore what happens in episode 4 and before, the more content we will find is worth making, especially in the republic.
