I really enjoyed the battlefront 2 campaign and especially the project resurrection addition. Shriv really made the campaign for me and likewise with Zey in resurrection. I think it would be cool to see them in episode 9. We know project resurrection was about when the first order were trying to take over the galaxy. Does anyone have any theories, speculation or any general views about the possibility of Shriv and Zey having a cameo or a part in episode 9. I feel like it would connect over the games story to episode 9 quite nicely. This thread could be total waste or I don’t know what I’m talking about it’s just an idea I had. Shriv and Zey are alive during the first orders reign so potentially Shriv and Zey could be in episode 9. Please correct me if in my wrong with time periods or just wrong overall I’m just curious.

I'd love to see Shriv in 9. Use your alien races to your advantage and use them as characters and not as background noise. As far as Zey, I don't know I need to see more. I did like her character in the short amount of time that we did get with the character. However, it's more likely that they'll just stick to them being in Battlefront 3.

I hope we see both Shriv and Zey present in (but not necessarily having any lines) the resistance war room, where Poe (or Connix) discuss hearing back from their allies in the Outer Rim.

This would be an amazing easter egg for those who played Battlefront II but not confuse the general audience. We haven't seen any south asian characters in the sequel trilogy so Zey's presence would just add to the diversity without stealing screen time from the existing characters.

The storygroup creates a consistent and interconnected universe of comics, games and books. The directors of the saga movies create whatever they want. These things can overlap by chance but I would not count on it at all. If JJ happens to like BF2 we're going to see Shriv and Zey. But since JJ has probably never heard of Battlefront 2 let alone played it I would say the chances of seeing these characters are practically zero. I also think that EP. IX wont't introduce us to many new characters and focus more on the already existing ones since it's the final part of the trilogy.

Tbh I totally see what your saying. Actually I think your partly wrong about JJ no knowing what BF2 is because Rian did as he linked that compass from the campaign into ep 8. I can only presume JJ must know about I just feel it would be an amazing link between the game and ep9. Even if it’s just Shriv in the background just as little Easter egg connection for the Star Wars fan gamers.

I think Rian did not link Battlefront to TLJ but the other way round. The compass is a cool looking setprop, nothing more nothing less. Most people won't even notice it in the movie and TLJ makes no effort to highlight its importance in any way. Battlefront tried to make its campaign more relevant by loosely connecting it to TLJ, not the other way round. A similar example would be the blueprint of the Supremacy which serves to explain to audiences what Finns and Rose's mission is all about. BF then took the blueprint and created a story around it, once again in an attempt to make BF seem relevant to TLJ and to fill what some people might call a plothole (how did they get the blueprint to begin with). My point is that the movies influence every other media while they themselves are only influenced if the director chooses to do so. The hierarchy which introduces important new information is relatively clear (even though you could argue about the exact position of the last 3). Movies > (animated) TV shows > books > comics > games. So far we have mostly seen the animated series influence the movies in a meaningful way (Saw Gerrera, The Ghost,...) so I would not count on games to influence the movies in any meaningful way.

Here's the exact story behind the compass:
