I loved this episode. I'll have to watch them all again at some point, but this may be in my top 4 of both seasons.

    liked
    * how small moments build throughout. Kanan/Ezra throwing each other around. The return to the temple. Ezra's animal control all come together in a big way.

    *Matt Lanter's return as Anakin

    *Vader at the end

    * confirmation of the grand inquisitor's identity.

    * the return of Malachor! This next thought is a stretch, but I think the more KOTOR elements that get brought into canon, the more likely we are to get a KOTOR trilogy between eps 9 and 10.

    *answers for everyone :)

    weird
    * why did ghost inquisitor help the rebels? Can a force vision really promote someone in the jedi order? I mean, this isn't really the ghost of the inquisitor...

    * Didn't Kanan say he needed to talk to Ashoka to determine how the inquisitors are tracking them? This isn't brought up again once ashoka joins the episode....Plus they seem to make it clear that 7th sister is just good and finding them in the force.

    bad
    * When Ezra is dangling from the edge....couldn't the inquisitors easily rush forward and kill them?

As far as Kanan's promotion to Jedi Knight, I feel that his vision is created by the force itself, and it a manifestation of the will of the force. As a result, its my opinion that Kanan is now officially a Jedi Knight.

I just didn't like Anakin's design... it was weird. But imo, it was the best episode of the series.

From the episode, I think you are clearly correct. I'm just not too keen on it. The jedi are just one of many religions of the force. Is the force now a sentient god-like entity that can ordain ministers of certain force organizations?

Ashoka is a light side force user, but not a jedi. Could a temple vision have made her a master? I don't hate it, just find it super weird that the force would manifest as a bad guy to knight someone. Also, if Kanan didn't go back to the temple....would he not have gotten this promotion?

it came out early on the disney XD app. Hope we didn't ruin it too hard for ya..it is a great one!

Just saw it and it was a great episode. Liked how when Ahsoka is meditating in the Temple she hears Anakin's voice as a reclaim. And how this episode sets everything for the following ones.

Though I suffered when Kanan is fighting the Jedi temple guard who tells him he will die and Ezra will go to the dark side. Sort of what I think it will end up happening - unless they end up stranded in Lori San from ANH to ROTJ.

    !!!!
    This was an amazing episode!
I thought all the threads really did a great job (I literally got chills during Ahsoka's vision), but Kanan's was by far my favourite. He's really, truly a Jedi Knight now.
    Plus, Malachor guys! Malachor!

*Does a spin with his arms to the sky*
I'm so happy and elated right now.

Love and peace to all. Everyone, be happy!

Kanan got his promotion simply because he accepted what he CAN do to help Ezra. He accepts what is likely Ezra's future. Instead of trying to force Ezra's destiny, he realizes he just has to do the best he can to support Ezra. This is why he is promoted.

I don't think he had to go back to the temple for the promotion. He just needed to accept what he CAN do to help Ezra. The vision brought forth by the temple was a catalyst for this revelation.

Also it makes sense that the Grand Inquisitor is talking to Kanan because who else has really seen Ezra's blindness for compassion.

Yes, Malachor! Here's hoping that Sith holocron is a little lord named Revan

Also maybe this is where Maul is? Searching and learning old sith teachings...(hopefully)

good episode. Once filoni mentioned that we had seen the grand inquisitor before; just that we hadn't actually seen him, I think most people thought he would be the temple guard. The only downside I still have is that every story thread is being teased for the finale. While it's completely objective if you like that kind of story telling, I'm not a massive fan of it.

One of the most interesting parts was the knighting of kanan. This has completely thrown open the ezra question IMO. Did the temple guard "knight" him because he could see kanan was willing to lose ezra to the dark side; but was strong enough to fight on and stop ezra? Or did the temple guard believe that Kanan's admission was a sign that he was on the right path to keep ezra on the light side?

One thing this episode made me think about which is unrelated to this episode is the presence of Obi-Wan. Senator Organa knew he was on Tatooine but never mentions this to Ahsoka. I get that Obi-Wan wants Luke to be a secret. But at the same time, you'd think that Ahsoka would at the very least know where to find Obi-Wan because of Senator Organa. He would be a valuable asset to Ahsoka in her training of the Force.

My question is will the show ever address why Organa has kept this a secret?

This was a great episode. I like Star Wars Rebels a lot, and really loved The Clone Wars, especially the finer episodes. They are two different shows, but this episode reminded me how great some of those episodes and arcs of The Clone Wars were. To quote an early Mark Hamill interview for the original Star Wars... "It's about a feeling..." This episode captured that Star Wars magic.

I can't say for myself any single opinion since I haven't seen this episode yet but the trailers made it seem as if she was watching A Holocron Thing of Anakin Skywalker from the past in his prime DURING ROTS JUST as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda watch towards the end of Revenge although he could be a force vision that was pressed upon her (?)
