I LOVE STAR WARS....so I love the prequels, and ANH is by far my favorite, even though advancements in VFX have made ANH LOOK DATED.

Well, he's a friend of JJ and he was in TFA... He's also a successful writer and acted in lot of good movies. Watch the Cornetto Trilogy. I think people are generally interested about what Hollywood people think about other movies.

So I'd only change the ordering of THE PHANTOM MENACE & REVENGE OF THE SITH (I don't know why I capitalised the titles but it's staying that way)

I'm a bit of a nerf herder, and I love the PT because I think they're absolutely terrible and I enjoy watching them for that reason. It's hilariously bad stuff. But every single time THE PHANTOM MENACE gets to the podracing sequence, I find I'm completely transfixed and exhilarated. It's an amazing sequence in the middle of comically farcical fart of a film. Also -
    This guy knows. ;) xx

So what? I don't care who is Pegg's friend, what movie he was in or that he is a successful writer. I don't see any reason why anyone other than Pegg would give a rat's ass about his opinion on any film.

I understand why allot of people dislike the prequels, but for me it broadened the Star Wars universe, flaws and all. I love how Qui-Gon Jinn portrayed a Jedi of that era, Ob1's depiction of a Padawan in training, Darth Maul a Sith full of anger, and yes Jar Jar Binks was annoying but it did not ruin the film for me. TPM is a feast for the eyes, Theed was beautiful and breath taking. Queen Amidala was striking to say the least. I was interested in all the politics, I wanted to know more.

I also enjoyed AOTC, Anakin's relationship with Padme was awkward, but it should be, he is not a player or play boy... etc; and I also liked that it broaden the universe. I think that was George's intention.

ROTS was a much better film the only thing that annoyed me were the sounds of the Vulture droid ships, a bit too kiddy for me but nonetheless a good film.

Simon Pegg doesn't like the prequels because they are not like the Empire Strikes Back. Every Star Wars film can not be a clone of Empire, some must be light hearted for levity and some should be dark like Rogue one. I like all the Star Wars films for what they are. If you hate them that's fine, that is your opinion.

No feelings hurt. Just curious as to why you are on a site to discuss differing opinions when you outright dismiss them.
If anyone had their feelings hurt, it was clearly you. Since after all, you are the one who wanted to:

You are hyperdefensive of the prequels.

Ok, you obsessive, blind fanatics don't care about his opinion, but normal people would have every reason to give a "rat's ass" about a guy's opinion who took part in episode VII (plus Clone Wars, Battlefront, and rumored to be in ep VIII as well), is a close firend to the creator of ep VII, and is a well known Star Wars fan.

I suggest you to go to the starwarsprequelappreciationsociety.com, create some threads and stay there at your safe space. Guess what: Many think the prequels are not as good as you think.

Btw, Pegg's most movies are much better than the prequels, but of course this conclusion is only available for those with critical capability.

To cause trouble, what else. Have you ever seen a rabid prequel fanatic contributing anything constructive to a discussion other than toxicity? Very rarely to say the least... Just look up the threads of the other prequel fanboys like Yubnub (or "WhymeandmyfriendsdontlikeTFA" as he originally called himself). It's truly hilarious and quite educational on the Star Wars community and human behaviour in general. Although I think I've seen everything already in the last 10+ years I'm on online Star Wars discussions.

And of course this post will be downvoted, but I don't care.

You could tell the Simon Pegg had a hand in TFA, look at all the Falcon shots. Its like TESB all over again. Thats the film he liked so he made sure the Falcon was in it. I like the TESB as much as anyone else but come on be a bit more creative bro. All the Star Wars films will embody Star Wars tropes until someone comes along and does something different.

And then, people will complain that it's not Star Wars and that their childhood has been raped and all that jazz. You can't please everyone.

Let's all be nice and like different things and respect each others opinion :)

Not a fan of Pegg's comments, but damn Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz were fine movies, and I enjoyed the Prequels (for alllllll of their flaws)
