I don't know when they changed it to stealth things but it's in the 2nd part of the XXth century.

 

The Red Coats fought in battles all across Europe too... they didn't lose all of them.

 

The Red Coats also battled in distinct lines and never broke ranks... They fought in a more civilized manner. In other words...

For over a thousand generations, the Red Coats were guardians of peace and justice in the Old World. Before the dark times. Before the Colonies.

I don’t think they are connected to Sidius.
I think they are Kylo’s new tool that he’s going to use vs the FO faction that wants to get rid of him.
That the reforging of the mask, etc... are his “desperate” attempt to overcome his enemies among the FO.
To do that, to not waste what he has achieved and that had costed him so much, he will align himself to the Sith lore/tradition. Something that he wasn’t willing to do (as for his monologue in TLJ).
