Snoke is hard to pin down who he is with so little info.

Maybe Kylo created him with his darkened mind at a young age. Kidding...kind of...

Anyway I wonder where he is broadcasting himself from? A ship maybe?

    I agree @Charlie07

And for general information, the TFA Visual Dictionary was writtwn by Pablo Hidalgo of the Lucasfilm story group and the information in it is canonical information.

I can't remember which book it came from, it might have been the art book or visual dictionary, but I'm almost 100% sure that a book said he was aboard a command ship.

    http://www.starwars.com/databank/supreme-leader-snoke

"The Supreme Leader of the First Order, the mysterious Snoke has no permanent base of operations, preferring to contact his underlings from a mobile command post. Snoke is powerful with the dark side of the Force, and seduced Kylo Ren into abandoning the Jedi path to become his apprentice. But Snoke also commands General Hux and the technological war machine the First Order has engineered to destroy the New Republic and Leia Organa’s Resistance."

ahh it was the databank. Thanks for clarifying.

Interesting that they used "post" instead of ship. could be some kind of self contained pod due to his health? Maybe even space station?

My own theory is that originally the force was balanced, until two friends started practicing with the force, One mastered the Dark Side the other the Light.

The one who mastered the Dark Side was Snoke and he tried to conquer the galaxy, The one who mastered the light set up the Jedi order to try and defeat him, they managed to defeat Snoke damaging and imprisoning him, but couldn't kill him as he had found away to make himself eternal.

In the battle the person who mastered the light side of the force was slain, and the first Jedi returned to the temple they had built Ahch-To where they recorded how they had defeated Snoke and a prophecy that the one who trained them will one day return.

The curious thing about this is, this is what the Sith Emperor does in TOR. He commands from a space Station only very few people actually know where it is. Not saying that is what lucasfilm is doing, but it sounds familiar. I also believe Snoke to be very old. First, there is the lightsaber used by Kylo. Did Kylo investigate it on his own, or did Snoke teach him.

Maybe Snoke is part of the planet Jakku just like Bendu is part of the planet Atollon?

This may be a stupid idea and feel free to say so but just going on TFA, Han says a young apprentice destroyed Luke's new Jedi order. It's just naturally assumed it was Ben. What if it wasn't Ben. What if Snoke was the first apprentice and corrupted Ben. No reasoning for thinking this other than the obvious assumptions are not necessarily the correct ones.

I've actually heard a theory like that except it was that someone else in Luke's Jedi order had slaughtered everyone else and that traumatized Ben so he turned to the dark side.

But, what if Snoke is a whole new character and he's someone we've never seen before? Snoke doesn't have to be someone that's already been introduced in SW. Just a thought.

Sounds like where they went with Lost... could work, could not. That would make Snoke thousands of years old though, which would be a little ridiculous maybe.

I suppose it is kind of like where they went with lost but it was badly executed, make it a little less wishy washy and explain it simply and think it would be an intresting way to go.

It would give Snoke a presence, if they arn't going to go down the Plagueis route, just making him another dark side of the force user, or and emperors guard would feel a little 'Meh' like a throwaway villain, but you make him the original person to use the dark side of the force and instantly he has significance.

He wouldn't be the first person to be ridiculously old either, people except Maz has been over a thousand years old, So can't see why it more ridicules for Snoke to be thousands of years old, especially when he looks so old and battered and you explain it bye it been a power he learnt through the force.

Anyway just my idea of where i would like to see them go.

True.. i'm just thinking of Knights of the Old Republic (which is so incredibly good it should be incorporated into official canon) and if Snoke was there from the very start then it'd make him over 10,000 years old or whatever..

I hope they're not rewriting the whole back story of the Jedi Order etc, because I love the whole history of Star Wars which was fleshed out by KOTOR. It would be a step too far in my book, so much so that it would make me retcon TFA onwards as a fan.

I just hope they're staying true to the quality stuff some of these authors put their time into over the years (The Sun Crusher can go to hell though)

Sorry if this idea has already been posted - this thread is getting a bit long.

I was thinking, I don't think it has ever been stated that Darth Maul was Palpatine's first apprentice.

Maybe after killing Plagueis but before taking on Maul, Palpatine started training Snoke, but Snoke defected from the Sith and started his own brand of evil?

Just a wild guess, but maybe...

THIS. Sidious does not suffer rivals. Just ask "formerly-Darth" Maul and his dead brother.

Could Snoke have a Master or someone directing him? Just because he is Supreme Leader does not mean he does not have a Master or someone else with heavy influence on him. Who trained Snoke in the Dark Side? His master may care less about Rebels, Senate, Empires etc...

Everyone assumes he is the top dog. Some times the top dog remains hidden.
