Snoke is NOT Darth Plagueis- so who is he?

i think we have to accept that they are going to change the history of the Jedi, like they have thrown out all the events post Return of the Jedi that where written in whats now called Legends, its most likely they will change the past that wasn't cannon too.

For me i'm not that bothered by it, we still have the stories we love, they just wont be the ones on screen.

 

Yeah especially if he had been planning this stuff for decades nothing would get in his way, not even his own master.

 

This probably won't be popular, but.... I must say it.

IF Snoke has a Master, there aren't many options to fill the role without causing half the fan base to flip out.... For me, the only way that could work is if Snoke is the given name of "Darth" Venamis (who was never officially a Banite-Sith) and he serves the dark side's wisest force user, Darth Plagueis. Snoke's injuries? Caused by Plagueis for each and every failure. Then his body gets repaired, unnaturally, via the dark side.... because Plagueis cares about order. His, order. I much prefer Snoke = Plagueis, because its simpler and he already has a legendary fit within the existing canon of the movies, regardless of what his species is.... but I would fully support the idea that Plagueis lives and directly controls Snoke to keep the Sith agenda on the down low.

At the end of the day, I want a great conflict.... between force wielders of the Jedi and the Sith, between Skywalker(s) and his/their creator.

I'm 98% certain that I won't get it, but that is what I desire.

Only 15 months or so, until we find out.

 

It pisses me off that they won't give us this.
They could have it all.
Plagueis is essentially a new character. They could make him look, act and do whatever they wanted. But by just making Snoke a former Sith with a modified name (which they were only too happy to do with Maul) they could've wrapped it all up in a nice little bow and made an outstanding and worthwhile addition to the mythology.

Bastards. Probably.

 

I fear we will be left with an Imperial version of Ezra's story, some force sensitive kid who talked to Palpatine once, got left to guard an ancient relic that never really mattered, obviously.... who picks up the fragments of the Empire for his new humpty-dumpty dark side order that controls a small section of space. Or maybe even all of it, the point is.... Snoke as a former Palpatine lackey is so boring and lame.... it has nothing to do with the Skywalker line or the Sith for that matter... its like here: "This is ur new evil overlord and we don't care if his backstory is rubbish, we are committed to sticking it to Lucas and the last seven PT fans upon the earth."

 

Absolutely. I want well made films and canon comics/books. The E.U. although good in places was an absolute mess and sometimes didn't even feel like Star Wars.

 

Does anyone else wonder how realistic Snoke is going to look when he isn't on the Holo?
OR, when the Supreme-CGI-Guy has to fight against Luke and Rey?

If he can stand up long enough to engage them, that is.

 

From what we saw in the Force Awakens and parts of Rogue One I have absolute faith that Snoke will look good. I can see him being a mix between practical effect and CGI, but who knows.

 

The people behind the story group at Lucas Films know who Snoke is and i'm certain they have a grand plan for him that should make our collective heads blow like Starkiller Base. Snoke is indeed a new character and I don't need him to be Plagueis. It is canon that Plagueis died at the hands Palpatine, period. In the current canon there is no other mention of Plagueis outside of ROTS. Also in an earlier post I noticed someone mention Thrawn was legends, he is actually canon now (sidenote lol). I'm certain we will be pleased with how Snoke will be fleshed out.

 

Has anyone seen Star Trek Beyond?

The bad guy in that:

- Was once a good guy, working for the federation.
- Crashed on a planet where he discovered life prolonging technology
- This technology allowed him to drain the life from others and his appearance completely changed (looked like an alien)
- Sought an ancient artefact that was one part of an ancient weapon that drained life (matter) on a massive scale.

 

Snoke is Darth Plagueis

 

I was kind of hoping Snoke was Plagueis, but who knows maybe Plagueis shows up in 9. Maybe he was/is a mutated clone of Anakin.

 

I saw an interesting reddit theory about Snoke being a nobody being given a huge power boost from the Force, just like Rey was. The reason is that: when dark rises, light rises up to meet it, and vice versa. There was no more Sith so the Force needed to naturally balance things. Snoke was just some rich dude who had no idea what he was doing so he copies the Emperor. He was from the unknown regions and traveled to this galaxy to take it over.

 

Snoke could just be a nobody with great power. I really wanna see a novel like phasma and tarkin about snoke.
