As part of Vanity Fair’s coverage on The Last Jedi, reporter David Kamp revealed one key information.
When asked what he could say about Snoke, Kamp stated the following:

“I asked Rian Johnson about Snoke—Who/what is he?—and Rian was fairly up front in saying that Snoke is not a character he particularly gets into in TLJ."

I think this is important information, we will see Snoke much more than in TFA but we now know the character's background will not be revealed in episode VIII.
Keeping Snoke in the shadows in The Last Jedi gives Colin Trevorrow something intriguing to unpack in episode IX.

Supreme Leader sports a “gold silky robe” and slippers of the same color. His outfit is lined in red as hinted at in the book The Art of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In addition, Snoke has a “fancy ring” rumored to house a black Kyber crystal.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Now put that all in the perspective of what Andy Serkis said:
“Supreme Leader Snoke is quite an enigmatic character, and strangely vulnerable at the same time as being quite powerful,” Serkis says. “Obviously he has a huge agenda. He has suffered a lot of damage. As I said, there is a strange vulnerability to him, which belies his true agenda, I suppose.”

This all I think makes strong case that Snoke has agenda which will be revealed in ep IX.

    Man you love Snoke.

Even in ROTJ the Emperor was simply that. We may not got a full exposition of who he is. Especially if he is simply part of the set up.

I can see him getting nixed in the beginning of Ep. 9 by Kylo Ren, making him the sole target and baddie, having truly fallen deeper off the already deep end after the patricide.

TLJ is about Luke, so it's actually comforting to know he's the greater focus, rather than getting bogged down by exposition about Snoke.

I don't think we'll see him that much more. Snoke had a screen time of about 2 minutes in TFA, in TLJ he will probably get about 4 minutes screen time. Hopefully he isn't just sitting around and is actually doing something. Something evil. (emperor)

The small amount of Snoke makes a lot of sense in TLJ. They want to keep something for EPIX.

Nah just that he might simply be Supreme Leader Snoke. A tall reptilian (apparently) high ranking wise with the force former Imp who is the new pu-bah of the 1st Order.

And it is natural to expect they will left the something for the end, TLJ will reveae to many secrets already.

Snoke is something extraordinary ( left to be expected in ep IX), or one will not be explained at all in entire trilogy( which will be strange since not just SW fans but ordinary mob expects him to be revealed).

I think , in fact hope Disney don't want for people to leave cinema in ep IX, with the question, whatahel was this ugly scared bob anyway? Did we waited 6 years to find, zero?

It is not original trilogy, it is not same Star Wars, it is not same public, people know to much and want to know much.

Strange that many people (naturaly) dont want to see original trilogy Ripoff, in the same time accept possibility for Snoke to be Ripoff of mysterious Emperor from original trilogy.

If Snoke is Mysterious Emperor ripoff , entire new trilogy is original trilogy ripoff.(gamorrean)

Disney knows that hard core fans who want more details will buy the comics and the novels. But he's Supreme leader of a neo imp fascist cult. His palace intrigues or subtle rise power as former prefect, or darkside zombie trapped in a sith relic or alien leader from wild space will be fully spelled out.

I do wonder if the fan response to craving Snoke's identity has inspired them to play hard to get, thereby driving them to by more coy about Snoke.

I understand why there isn't time for Snoke, but at the same time; Lucasfilm will inevitably elaborate on this character and deliver exposition that details his rise to power and why this apparent nobody managed to take over The First Order. The Last Jedi simply doesn't have the time to develop this plot in any significant way, but I do believe we'll receive seeds that will be planted to bear fruit in Episode IX.

The Force Awakens was constructed as setup; Abrams didn't consider what had transpired to establish the setting, and I honestly believe Snoke probably didn't have any origin or definition during The Force Awakens. There isn't some secret being kept, Snoke simply has not been considered. When his time is due, then Lucasfilm will retroactively explore Snoke's rise to power, but right now, I don't think much even exists anyway.

I'm guessing something big will be revealed about Snoke near the end of the movie. Nothing maybe earth-shattering, but something to build into Episode 9 with and keep the conversations going about who/what he is.

Sidious was barely seen in Episode 2 and in Episode 5. Makes sense.

I will drop one unknown insight for debate.

Snoke Influenced Ben from the begining we know it from novel.
Ben was born 1 year after the battle of Endor, around the time of battle on Jakku.
At that time Snoke was not the leader of First Order there was no First Order only remnants of Empire at that time, that were about to retreat into Unknown regions.Jet Snoke already influenced Ben.
    What could this mean?
    Any thouhts?

Well the Emperor was more implied in the general context as a character: there's an Empire, so there's an emperor. You didn't need much more. Snoke's existence is not so obvious: why did he build the FO? Why the KORs? His origin story could be necessary to understand the foundations of this era.

You know, I never really thought of it that way.
With Gallius basically leading the Imperial Remnant (as far as we know, at least) we really don't know what Snoke was doing at that time, nor where he even was. Yet, he apparently had some serious designs on the galaxy already, starting to make some moves.

Was Snoke really in some position of power within the Empire, and we simply didn't know about him (sort of a top secret level above even Rax?)
Or was he merely reaching out and influencing with the Dark Side, and just fortuitously managed to step into power near the time of the Empire's fall?

Lots of really, really strange questions about Snoke still. No wonder he's so often a topic of debate!
