This may have already been discussed, so by all means lock it up. But something occurred to me after watching TFA - yet again!

Snoke's reaction to Hux informing him that they've failed and the planet has destabilised, always bothered me. He didn't really seem to give a s**t. Is to possible that this is what he wanted? He's already seen the demise of the New Republic after ordering the FO to use the weapon, and now the majority of the First Order have perished after the attack from the Resistance . He's basically engineered the end of the two super powers in the galaxy.

This guy has obviously got beef with the remnants of the Empire as well as the "good guys".

What's his plan? Who is he? How is he in such a powerful position? He's a fascinating character! Discuss....

What if new trilogy is about extra-galactic invasion, an attack to eradicate old galactic civilization? A fight for survival?

What if Snoke is Supreme leader of more than one order? What if he controls some second Order to waiting in shadow?.
In this way the First Order was first wave. You did note that First Order has got heavy losses. That kind of loss will be significant even for Old and much more resourceful Empire. But Snoke is not worried his First Order has lost much of its Force.

What if now, after First Order and Republic have bleed and exhausted each other, a Second Order attacks, unknown extragalactic Alien race invades?

This theory had crossed my mind! What if we see what is left of the FO (remnants of the Empire) and the Resistance join forces to eliminate Snoke and his KOR etc, once they discover his true agenda? Maybe Finn's defection from the "bad side" is a sign of things to come?

There is one EU story in which the ancestors of the Jedi and the Sith Join the Forces to defeat extragalactic invaders.

Great topic. it does appear that snope is more interested in yhe conflict than in either side gaining a big advantage. use the planet killer once to knock out the republic, but let it (as in phasma lowering the shields) get invaded and destroyed. neither side then has the resources to prevail. but to what end?

i hope it's something more original than to "rule the galaxy with x by his side". immortality is a possibility, but if he isn't plagueis, people gwon be pissed.

what if he is aware of a pending invasion, and he is actually trying to protect yhe galaxy?

i go back to wondering whether Snoke is just feeding off the chaos in the galaxy; the Galactic War got him out of bed, and how he needs conflict to sustain himself.

building the FO gives something for the New Republic to fight.
but he's gotta get rid of Luke before they start a big war because the Jedi are his only threat.
before they can get to Luke, however, circumstances force his hand to fire Starkiller, destroying the Republic (oh well, why not: it'll send the galaxy deeper into crisis).
and then there's Kylo Ren, human disaster all of his own. seems no way Snoke has let him be such a mess if it wasn't purposeful somehow (he's deliberately let the Light fester in Ren).
which directly leads to Starkiller being destroyed (again: oh well, we'll just build another one or fight some other way--again, the focus is on Luke).

I really hope, Snoke has a bigger plan than just ruling the galaxy and striking fear to the remaining systems. If not, then kill him off in EP8.

I like that idea. In a way it´s like the theory of Palpatine preparing for the "Yuuzhan Vong war". If you know what I mean.

But I´m sure, that Snoke has big plans for Kylo Ren. Maybe he wants to take over Ren´s body.

Bigger plans than ruling the Galaxy? Isn't that the ultimate power? You can't get much more power hungry than that, can you?!

Ruling everything is such a stereotype for villians. I meant with bigger => more original.

I think the ultimate power is immortality btw.

To me it's not that he wasn't feeling a thing but he seemed pretty pissed off about the entire situation and especially mad with Ben & Hux.

My question is; how much does Snoke knows about the nature of the Force itself...

Does control count too? Event ho the force isnt controlable as in one entity. One can only wield one side of it and suffers the consequences either way, right?

The Jedi feel and hear all the suffering and may want to heal the wounds. The Sith suffer and spread suffer to gain power of/over the force.

In thread "Case for Snoke" I presented IMO serrious arguments that Snoke has not been born as particularily powerfull force wielder. he was Force sensitive but not so powerfull from birth like kind of Skywalkers, or Yoda, or Palpatine.
He uses dark side for knowledge (remote sensing) and for prophetic viewing of things, and for wisdom in a way. At expense of dark side eating his body, deforming him. Pablo Hidalgo Confirmed Empire " hired" force sensitives" as seers" So Snoke indeed could be (I am personaly sure in it) most powerful "seer" or dark prophet there was.
I also presented proofs he once in his life survived near-death or even death event, and in the TFA novel in Snoke teachings he tels to Kylo that one van reach his maximal power only after contested to the extreme limits, which means Snoke has grown stronger from that event, which we will see what it was.

You can refer to thread "case for Snoke" in which I speculate (very elaborate theory) that Snoke is based upon Cronal. And Cronal is EU character imagined by Pablo Hidalgo around 2008, as a Supreme prophet of the Dark side, in the same time a director of Imperial intelligence service.

After reading the German novel once again I am not sure about Snoke's next moves concerning Kylo and Rey, especially since he has sensed Rey's strengh while confronting Kylo. He also confronts Kylo with his compassion for Rey. He tells him that it was Kylo's weakness in the interrogation room, his compassion with her, that let him fail, not her strength. He also tells Hux, that it is time to show Kylo the dark side again. So, what are his next moves. Will Kylo get a lesson? Does he look forward to replace Kylo and teach Rey instead like Sheev did with Dooku? How will Kylo react if he would check out replacement plans of Snoke? Will he remember Han's words on the bridge? Will he try to kill Rey, because he fears that she could replace him?

I think Snoke believes Rey could become much stronger than Kylo Ren. So his goal will probably be to seduce Rey to the dark side and to replace Kylo Ren. On the other hand, Kylo Ren wants Rey as apprentice too ("I can show you the ways of the force"). Maybe Kylo Ren's plan is to overthrow Snoke by the help of Rey.
