SPECULATION Snoke's Pretorian guards are sentinel battle droids

It's not that hard to imagine. There are holes in these helmets.

 

Can't be worse than Ren's mask. Adam was tripping over everything wearing that helmet.

 

As a owner of a Kylo Ren helmet I can confirm. It's not easy to fight or run with this thing. Haha!

 

Oh yeah I remember the pic you showed me haha I feel for cosplayers. That must be hard!

 

That Lego action figure is built exactly like the other humanoid lego action figures and again is posed in a completely human pose.

I am not denying the possibilitie of your speculation its an interesting idea. But I see nothing in the pictures of the guards to suggest that they move different than humans.

As for the second picture I am sure you are aware that there are several lines of figures and some have elbow and knee joints. Point being the pictures don't show unusual movement. Now that may be a surprise but so far they look to have normal joints.

 

Wow that could be a strong possibility but I myself think they might be the same species as snoke and they have to hide their faces except for him since he's the
Leader.

 

I wouldn't overthink the arm guards. They're most likely based on an Ancient Roman piece of armour:

Yeah they look to be at least 6.5 feet tall minimum, but Snoke could just be the "alpha.

Pretty sure we will be seeing the Battle of Jakku in the Battlefront 2 game. The Aftermath Trilogy does start slow, but it is great, and I really love the connective tissue between Empire's End and the Phasma Novel.

This is a good point because, well, the word Praetorian in the Star Wars context seems to be stolen exactly from its real world, Ancient Roman Empirical counterpart: these were hand-picked veteran/elite guards selected to serve as bodyguards to the Emperor of that time.

What's interesting about this is that it implies that, of course, by proxy, Snoke would be serving as something of an Emperor, making his connection to Palpatine, if he has one, an intriguing prospect.

What I find most intriguing, however, is something @AstromechRecords mentioned: the idea that the Praetorian Guards come from the same place as Snoke, or, at least, perhaps from before he entered the known SW galaxy (that's including what we know of the Unknown Regions). What are the odds that Ancient Rome's Praetorian Guards were also only recruited from the motherland of Italy in particular? I think it's a fair shout, and whilst @McDiarmid argued that they are much shorter than Snoke, who's to say that Snoke's height isn't an outlier of his race?

I think the Roman Praetorian connection should be something we look into a bit deeper, I bet there are a lot of links to be made. Also, nice touch considering that the title "stormtrooper" was also taken from a real world armed force (and even nicer considering that said armed force was built on the ideological foundations of Ancient Rome and Caesar specifically).

Perhaps Snoke is an ancient Emperor?
