SPECULATION So no trailer this year?

We got a teaser for TFA over a year before it came out.

Guaranteed to run at Rogue One or earlier.

 

They are trying to repeat TFA a exactly so expect one TINY teaser With Celebration and then an 88 second teaser released right before R1 and then released WITH R1 .

 

I really hope we get something from Episode VIII this year but we haven't even gotten a real teaser from Rogue One yet and its release is less than a year away now. I think we will get something for Episode VIII but I don't see them releasing three teasers so early in production.

 

I just hope the new trailer(s) don't give away half of Luke's screen time again.

 

Remember hat the main movies are DIFFERENT than he spin offs .

True, but that first teaser for TFA was released really early. Most movies don't post teasers or trailers 13 months before the release and after two new Star Wars movies in two years I doubt there is a necessity at Lucasfilm and Disney to show us a teaser that early. That said, I do hope you are right and we do get some sort of teasers for Episode VIII this year.

 

Set 15 december in your agenda. It will either be shown before Rogue One in cinema or right after the credits. They can break with any convention with rogue one so why not show the teaser. It will bring some extra people to the cinema.

 

I'm not expecting a teaser this year..

 

What's inside ?

 

The first teaser for TFA wasnt planned. It was released with pressure from the fans. So dont expect a teaser for Ep VIII with Rogue One.

 

Let's start to pressure them then .

 

I would love to get a glimpse of Ep8 this year, but I don't think it will happen. Disney's marketing department is going to have their hands full trying to get people to understand that Rogue One is a completely separate entity from the Saga chapters. Putting anything out about Ep8 during the build up to R1 would only cause more confusion - even attaching a teaser to R1 would just serve to muddy the waters.

If you want to know when to expect the first teaser for Ep8, I would bet on it coming about year after we we the first teaser for R1, unfortunately.

But we already have a first "teased" for R1 although it was EPIC & COMPELTELY CGI .

 

Trailer? No, but I bet we'll get a #%£¥ load of "collectors edition" or ""blue series" or whatever idiotic way they con fans into buying the 9th version of R2 or Kylo Ren.

We will get lots of merch that seems to shed light on Ep VIII: a Luke action figure. "Jedi temple Rey," a snoke action figure that is bolted to a chair, and some spaceship that is in the first 30 minutes of EP VIII, but in the corner of the screen for 20 seconds.


Then, they'll release a teaser with Rogue one that is just Rey climbing to find Luke from TFA (but using different shots that weren't used. Then the teaser will have briefs of Luke, Rey, Kylo, Chewy, Poe, Finn (sitill unconscious), and one random new character (not Del toro) then the the release date and the title.

We'll be damn lucky to get a full trailer before Labor Day 2017.
