The First Order Heavy Scout Walker - see below.

I mean, I know it's stupid looking, but I was genuinely curious to at least see how it really moved.

Was it completely cut like the black R2 unit in Rogue one, or is it still in there somewhere just deep in the background during one of the First Order hangar bay scenes - like the 'camels' in Rogue One (which yes are actually in there for a split second)?

Ah I still need to get that.

Oh well, I guess they just park them round the back next to the First Order Snowspeeders.

That sounds even more sexy. I love curved machinery. With big cogs.

The design wasn't basic enough for kids to remember

Oh I certainly don't deny the design leaves a lot to be desired, makes me think of a spider or crane fly whacked with a newspaper, but I was curious to see it in action, so as to at least see what the hell Lego was trying to replicate there.

Which IMO would have made a nice LEGO set as well.

I wish I still could enjoy Lego sets. The last one I remember having is a Harry Potter one. The chamber of secrets, or dragon arena.

    These look fun.

Agreed. Maybe not as fun for kids, though- less moving legs and what not.

    I'm pretty sure the
battering ram thing was being pulled by two of these (one on either side)
... or something with similar legs.

No I'm afraid those were huge wide rectangular tanks, like concrete shoeboxes. They did have dozens of scuttley legs though which came out from the front, so you're right there, similar tech design, but sadly that's where the similarities end (looking at them right now online, time code 2:03.24. Not going to promote such websites here, but if you know where to look then you can see those things in motion at that point for comparison).

True true! Maybe LEGO had some creative freedom or the idea morphed out of those things. The legs of the "tugboats", as you mentioned, were the main reason for me drawing a comparison. It's the only time in the movie I saw something similar to the set - which I had seen the box before going to the movie and was looking for it. :) The idea of a ground support thing with those legs doesn't seem very practical though.. maybe it was just made for the kiddos.

I... I-I'm not even sure how that thing is supposed to move, let alone "walk".

definite possibilities ~ maybe even make it a smaller set.
i'm kinda annoyed i don't have a hatless Hux because this set is too expensive for what it is.
and especially since it's not even in the movie ~ hahahaha
