I don't think he ever was raised by Mandalorians. At least I don't recall hearing this or seeing it in TCW.

Since Disney is so heavy on the between Ep III and IV, I bet we will see a Han Solo/Boba Fett teamup movie set there. We would see Han meeting Chewie, reluctantly working with Fett and end up failing his mission leading to being in debt to Jabba the Hutt. Boba would get pissed and side with Jabba (what we see in the special edition of A New Hope). Not sure why they would be working together but it could be interesting.

As for the other spin-offs, I would love to see an Old Republic movie. Either Darth Bane's story or something completely new where we see a huge battle between many Jedi and many Sith. They would get Ridley Scott to direct of course...

For the third announced spin-off, I would go with a redemption on the most hated Star Wars character of all... Jar Jar Binks.
Yes Jar Jar. It would take place before Ep I obviously and show Jar Jar as a valliant Gungan warrior leading to him getting injured resulting in his stuipidity, causing problems, and getting banished. In all, we would no longer hate Jar Jar but go on to accept him for what he is... a brain damaged alien.
No, it would be loosely based on the KENOBI novel. Starting immediatly after Ep III and span the entire 19 years leading to A New Hope. Using great makeup and maybe CGI work, have Ewan McGreggor age. He could interact with Owen and show why he doesn't want Luke hanging around him, show some of Anchorhead like in the A New Hope novelization, have Obi fight off some Tuskens and possibly a Krayt dragon (the one by R2's and 3PO's escape pod in A New Hope being the one killed by Kenobi,) and communicating with Qui-Gon via Force ghost, Liam Neeson cameo of course. Start with Obi-Wan leaving Luke with Owen and Beru, and end with him singing like a Krayt dragon saving Luke in A New Hope. Could be good.

Meh, I don't much care for Filoni's enterpretation of the Mandalorians. And frankly neither do I like the OLD REPUBLIC version of them either. If you invest time into the EU "New Jedi Order" & "Legacy Of The Force" books, the Mandalorians are some of the most compelling alien race I've ever encountered in fiction, along with Klingons!!!

Just Boba alone in the book "Bloodlines" is a real treat!!!
Anyone into the m. culture should def. check this out!

Perhaps the seizure of the Death Star plans by a certain Senator/Princess will be how the film ends...

When it comes to the spinoff films, I really hope they don't do Boba Fett. He is a character best left to books, as has been done in the original EU. A movie would seem almost too similar to a Clint Eastwood type of bounty killer film set in space, and I think that takes away from the mystery and awe that surrounds Fett. The reason books are a better media through which to expand on his character is because, unlike a film, exploration into his character is still largely left to interpretation of the reader and their imagination. By making him the central "protagonist" (anti-hero?) of a movie, it establishes an "official" character depiction of Fett. Not to mention, I would assume the film would only be made to pander to the masses who only like Fett because he looks cool and is easily marketable, not because they care about his character.

The spinoff films that I would like to see (in no particular order):
1. Obi-Wan Kenobi's journey in between III and IV
2. A film that takes the Imperial perspective, with the Alliance as the antagonist (to show the gray morality that existed in that time)
3. Origins of Red Squadron
4. Dooku and Qui-Gon (perhaps explore Dooku's turn to the Sith)

These are just my opinions, please feel free to critique them.

I admit i'm a bit of a figure geek!

I'm looking forward to Bobba movie, Sorry Lord Sidious 49 I even have many of his figures, he is pretty cool, wasn't intimidated by Vader; that's cool. I do care about him also: being Swallowed by a Sarlacc was a bit dodgy for such a stoic character.. I think this will be first spinoff would grab a new following for the franchise.

Yes most obvious would be boba fett. Just becouse he looks so friggin cool. Would also like to see it start with him escaping the pit and take it from there That way he could make a appearance in one of the new trilogy episodes further down the line and still be relavent. I think a yoda spinoff could be intresting becouse he is so old and they could set it in old republic. With Darth Bane or male

..darth malak. All the eu is now officially not cannon so they could have him as a padawan at the last fall of the sith. Maybe make him the hero that defeated them. Then they could make spin offs of those spinoffs that would be about the old republic. I think Han Solo will be killed off at some point and maybe they will leave his spinoff till after that. Maybe between 9 and 10. Really liked the darth vader and the ghost prison comic and think that would make a good film and we'd get to see more vader

Id love to see a BEN Kenobi spin off. Him in hiding and trying to keep luke out of the empires hands. I dont see Darth Vader completely not giving a blast that obi wan cut him up an left him to burn. Im sure he tried to find him between ep 3 and ep4. The Emperor never mentioned if Vaders child met the same fate as padmae(probably spelled wrong). So he could of just assumed his child died or he knew the whole time luke was alive. If he knew luke was alive then once again why would he not go looking for him. Tatooine seemed like a popular enough planet in the prequels to have vader, a bounty hunter or stoormtroopers to go an look on it. Kenobi could be trying to do everything he can to make them not find little lukey boy. Obi or ben Kenobi will never play a dominant role in the movies ever again unless he gets a spin off. I say give him one last go at it. He has always been a big character it would be a good way to say good bye to him as disney builds star wars's future.

Yes! It is this kind of imagination that makes me think Disney intends to make a Kenobi film. Kenobi defending young Luke Sywalker without even having known what was going on . . . get Joel Edgerton to reprise his role as Owen . . . .perhaps show Oni-Wan dispatching some Krayt dragons as they are about to invade the Lars homestead. There's a bunch of great ideas they could explore for a Kenobi movie and they'd (Disney/LFL) be fools not to.

Fett and Obi-wan seem like a no-brainer to me for the spin-offs. You can disguise any actor with Fett's costume (for the sake of character mystique) or you could create a character to go head-to-head with him. Also, McGregor is the perfect age to explore Obi-wan's supposed down time.

What about the Millenium Falcon or some other inanimate object (lightsaber, force artifact, etc.) as the main focus. Short stories highlighting how the 'object' has interacted with the SW universe over years/centuries until present SW time. I'm sure this is not an original idea - similar to the movies "Cats Eye or The Red Violin."

Please no Solo stand alone though - it won't work.

I think it would be a really interesting spin-off film, if they didn't just like pick a character and do a movie about them - instead they just build a story off characters entirely separate from anybody else we've seen. Sure we could see a Han Solo spinoff about him flying the Falcon around as a smuggler on Tatooine and junk, but would that be as cool as a different smuggler having adventures somewhere new? Adventures in a Galactic Empire will always be fun and exciting, even if your not right next to the "main action" - there are evil governors, plenty of stormtrooper baddies, crime bosses, and bounty hunters in Star Wars, and a whole Galactic Empire to work with.

If they do pick characters to do spin-offs about, I hope none of them are Boba Fett, he is totally overrated. He's not comical (as I previously interpreted, based on my experience growing up with Temeura Morrison's awful line delivery), but he is definitely not that important either. He was just a way to bridge the gap between The Empire Strikes Back! and Return of the Jedi. And sure he had a cool costume, but so did everybody else in Star Wars. (personally I prefer IG-88 <3)

New characters, new planets, new ships. Make a good one off self contained movie and "maybe" give it a sequel later, set it before episode one or right after episode three and have it have nothing to do with the other movies main story plots.

I think the spin-offs should abandon the opening crawl sequence and just let the directors do what they want.

Bothan Spies and Rogue Squadron are both in Shadows of the Empire. What about an animated Shadows of the Empire Movie? They could get original trilogy voice acting by Mark Hammil, Carrie Fisher, and Billy Dee Williams, and I bet the guy who plays Dash Rendar in the N64 game would be free too. The only person I could see saying no to a project like this is frozen in carbonite during the whole story.

Surely the Ewoks deserve a spin-off movie.... oh, wait. Or how about Chewie in a race against time to make it back to Kashyykk.... damn it. But seriously, I think Mara Jade would make a fantastic film - especially if someone like Jennifer Lawrence, she can do action, drama etc... Her whole (Previous, now non-canon) back story of being one of Emperor Palpatine's shadow recruits is worth a shot?

Admiral Thrawn? I would love to see a post-ROTJ movie with planets breaking off from the empire. Take some plots from Thrawn Trilogy but with new heroes rather then the OT characters.

No-one's menioned the fact that there are hundreds of canon Jedi that could have their own spin-off movies: Aayla Secura, Kit Fisto, Shaak Ti, Plo Koon.... There are also many other minor characters that have appeared canonically that could be explored (though admittedly probably to a less successful degree) such as Zam Wessel, Jocasta Nu, Hondo Ohnaka, Embo, the list goes on.

What about a movie that shows Captain Rex after the end of TCW and during Order 66, or how Commander Cody dealt with the fact that he gave the order to fire on Kenobi on Geonosis? Now that would be interesting to see - the way in which those two strong-minded characters, who have always been such loyal friends to the Jedi, deal with such an ingrained instruction that they simply cannot refuse and the consequences of their actions.
