Yep. That's what sparked the problems in the first place, Lord and Miller kept going away from script

 

I think the script was Kasdan's swan song to the trilogy especially that he worked on it with his son, and he recommended L&M which probably hurt more so.

 

My bad, I thought all four wrote it.

Have we seen this picture of Han and Beckett yet?

 

I think that it could be cool. I thought that Maz was an interesting character and would have liked to have seen a little more of her, especially given that she had a scene with Leia that was in the second trailer that didn't end up being in the movie. It would certainly give us the backstory that was missing in TFA when she was introduced. However, the same thing happened with Lando in ESB so it's not unheard of for Han Solo to have a character that he has a backstory with that just gets dropped into the storyline.

 

It would be interesting to see how she & Han got acquainted

 

I've said since the movie was announced that Lupita should do a Maz cameo. It would makes sense and would help bridge the ST and the Anthology films.

As we get closer and closer to TLJ when do you think that we'll see a teaser for Solo? I think that it would make the most sense to put it in front of TLJ but does that take anything away from that movie?

Just wondering what everybody thinks about this?

 

Well, the first teaser for Rogue One and The Last Jedi were release approximately 9 months before the films' scheduled release dates. And Solo, if it keeps the May 25 release date, will release only 6 months out from The Last Jedi.

The big question is whether or not LucasFilm wants to start calling attention to it now, as The Last Jedi releases, or if they want to hold off until after TLJ is out of theaters. If it's the latter, we may not see anything until, and this is just me spit balling here, maybe mid to late January at the absolute earliest.

 

Good points. I can see them wanting to use some of the momentum from The Last Jedi to start building hype for Solo but I can also see them waiting until after it opens. It just seems very strange that we are now almost 6 months away from the release date and they haven't got any footage out there yet. I can see wanting to wait until TLJ to do something, either release a trailer or wait until after the initial opening to start building the hype for Solo, but they seem to be in a bit of uncharted territory with how the production went and I'm sure they're trying to figure out the marketing strategy now. I'm a little surprised that they haven't delayed the release but maybe that date is so locked in stone that they can't move it.

I do agree that if they don't put something on The Last Jedi then it would probably be mid-January until we see something at the earliest. If that's the case I could see them targeting something like the college football National Championship game to release the trailer since that's on ESPN. It would be earlier than mid-January but it's on one of the Disney owned networks. The Super Bowl is being carried on NBC this year so I think the odds of seeing something during that are pretty slim.

 

i think that it's more than likely that it would be released with TLK and put online a few weeks later.

 

First look at Alden as Han.

Looks good! I got excited when I saw the MSW post, but I must admit I was a little disappointed it wasn't a photo. I'm itching for the first official look at Ehrenreich as Solo...

 

Yeah me too, I hope the trailer is with TLJ and we get a bunch of character photos. As much as I want to see Alden's Han I am more curious about Donald Glover's Lando.
