the movie opens with Han sparking a speeder to life.
    later, Beckett calls him "sparky".
in TLJ, the "spark" is an ongoing theme.

Well that could work, Rebels "spark of the rebellion" the episode where the wookie slaves are freed, to Han giving coaxium to the rebellion till Poe talks about the spark of the resistance, ongoing theme of Lucas poetry.

There’s just one more Easter egg that came to my mind when thinking about the olden days.

For those who played obsessively the great WEG pen & paper RPG, in ’89 the second Galaxy Guide contained the planets Yavin and Bespin, including a short description on flora and fauna.

Which included the Runyip, for the first time ever in the Star Wars universe.

And now we got a live action version of mounted specimen:

I don't know if I'm correct or not, but at the start after the time jump into the brief battle, when Beckett is giving Han orders, did he say "You and Greedo"?
As I said, I could be wrong, but I just thought that it'd be kinda cool if it was that Han an Greedo served together in the army, and maybe that's why they have such a rough past together?

I like the way you think, but I kinda doubt this one being true. In universe, the Empire was famous for discriminating against non-humans, which is why most of the Empire is comprised of humans, save for the occasional alien like Grand Admiral Thrawn. Besides, if it was Greedo, the filmmakers would have treated that moment like it's a big deal, like when Han's blaster or the Millenium Falcon first show up.

He was probably referring to Rio (Durant) and it just so happened to sound like Greedo.

This is somewhat related to easter egg hunting, so I'm going to write about it here. The three SW films I rewatch the most are A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and The Force Awakens (soon to be replaced by The Last Jedi.) There's one specific thing these films have in common - each one of them contains a very distinct and separate set of aliens (with a few exceptions, like Chewbacca or Nien Numb.) I am so in fact used to there being very little overlap in terms of alien designs that Solo in that aspect felt weird to me. There were so many recognizable faces, I'd even dare to say that there were too many of them. I don't know, just a little thought I had.
