    This guy is almost certainly Quiggold, the Gabdorin pirate in Crimson Corsair's crew aboard the Meson Martinet. One of the main characters in the Crimson Corsair ebook released today, he's featured on the cover and only wears one sandal...

    Sidon Ithano is one of the main characters in "The Crimson Corsair and the Lost Treasure of Count Dooku", one of four ebooks released today that introduce characters from The Force Awakens. He's captain of the Meson Martinet, and wears a Kaleesh mask.

    EDIT: Now when i think of it perhaps the tag should have been "official news" or something instead?
    Spoiler sounds a bit dramatic for naming some background characters that probably won't be mentioned by name anyways .

    no keep it as spooler as some on this site want to go into TFA completely without spoolers so to be on the safe side keep it as it is to give users the option of knowing or not knowing that is the question

    Okay, I didn't love the look of these guys when we first got the behind the scenes footage, but... now I'm kinda scared to badmouth them.
    They're really creepy and unnerving in this story and I'm actually looking forward to see how much and what they're doing in the film.

    Yeah about that helmet .Didn't really see the connection at first and just thought he had a cool looking helmet but now i definitely see it after learning this (and *cough* googling the word Kaleesh).

    Yeah im really curious too. Finn and Quiggold seem to get along just fine over a pint or are looks deceiving ?

    I also remember that Sidon character had such a cool Star Warsy sound effect/voice in the SDCC behind the scenes video , classic Ben Burtt style. Really hoping they kept that for the movie. The TFA cantina scene will be something to behold for sure.

    I guess the cantina scene will be my favorite moment of the movie! I love all the scenes with creatues in the OT the most. Jabbas Palace is my handsdown favorite. And the Rancor is my all time favorite creature. I hope we will see Rancors again. (In new fresh creature effects, just imagine how awesome that would be!) :-D #Hope

    Yeah i wouldn't mind a Rancor or two further down the line in this trilogy. A cool twist would be having a villain like Phasma or Kylo having to face one.

    So that's a Kaleesh design! Awesome! Can't wait to hear more about these guys in the next month. I've loved all the character designs we've seen thus far (yes, even Maz). JJ and crew really have done some amazing work!

    These guys ( cryptosurgeons) run a lab in the highest tower of Maz Kanata's castle, not unlike Frankenstein, with an Igor-type Snivvian lab assistant named Drix Gil. They offer facial reconstruction surgery for criminals to avoid bounties.

    Is Warwick Davis playing one of them ?

    EDIT: By the way , i have not read these myself yet but a guy on reddit has written some excellent summaries. Head on over to starwarsleaks to find out more. Finally that place becomes useful

    EDIT 2 :
    Seems like a lot of Frankenstein references in this story including a monster built of different alien corpses. Made me think of these two guys ;) The monster in the story sounds way more horrible though.

    When I first saw it, I swore it was a painting of some sort. I still have not quite figured out why he is so shiny. But I think he looks great.
