    Unless I missed it somewhere, I think the story only specifies “late” 2017. With that I’d look for Avatar at Thanksgiving so it can leave enough room for Star Wars but still come out after Black Panther and Justice League.

    If Disney embarks on a yearly Star Wars episode, and everything else is attached to it (Merchandising, toys, videogames.... for the xmas season... rest assure, they won't play with the dates).

    Stangely... We have a new Star Wars episode coming our ways less than 2 years from now!! That's fast!

    Now that we know that... I guess we could speculate on the fact that they may start filming this new episode soon... Maybe scenes were already shot (with Mark and Carrie)

    My guess is they will start filming early next year at the latest, the film is already in pre-production.

    Isn't there a rumor that Rogue One and Ep.VIII are filming with one another or kinda overlapping so they can use the same sets? Maybe I read it wrong but I'd think they wouldn't start any later than late summer.

    if theres no prob filming viii on this schedule then ix could target nov 2019 thatll be before avatar (provding theres not 6 more delays) and keep it away from avengers and justice league
