SPOILER Speculation Storyboard

Moving Target, tells us that Poe was sent to Jakku.
It's as plain as that.

And now we've got this:


Bottom right picture shows the village, with the blue X-wing parked in the background, and what is most likely MVS meeting with Poe and BB-8 in the foreground hut, all while the place is being raided by the First Order.

The BTS video also shows someone who looks like a lot Poe running around a blue x-wing at night, while searchlights (visible on the First Order transport ships in the trailer) are trying to find him and the village burns in the background.
We also have footage of BB-8 looking back at fires and rolling away from an explosion in the Japanese trailer.

I think we can say with absolute surety that Poe Dameron is at the Village when the First Order attack at the start of the movie.

 

Yeah...

I forgot to mention that. Poe is most certainly there (on Jakku) with BB-8... but we still don't have any real evidence to support why, although I'm sure we can rule out the First Order diplomacy theory.

 

Do you guys remember that first bit of MVS dialogue leak? He said to an unknown figure something like "it's here".
If that were true, could he have been speaking to Poe?

 

I'm not sure how that classifies as evidence for why Poe Dameron was sent there...
Yes, it tells us that it's something/someone important, but it doesn't really give us any clear answers.

Basically, the best theory we have for Poe Dameron being sent to Jakku, is that he was sent there to retrieve the lightsaber from MVS...
but we don't have any sort of official confirmation for this.

 

Max von Sydow's character looks like a Jedi... and no cybernetic implants, that's a little disappointing.

 

I believe Poe's X wing is still on Jakku where he was originally captured by Kylo Ren. So when he escapes with Finn he awakens to locate his hidden X wing then reports back to Resistance headquarters to tell them of the terrible weapon he has witnessed on the Star Destroyer. I think after that Poe's job is to lead the counter attack against the first order's attack on Maz Kanada's fortress.

Based solely off the lighting of each scene, my guess for BB-8's story on Jakku (which I would guess lasts less than 36 hours) would probably go like this:

NIGHT: BB-8 arrives with Poe in the Jakku village. But when the FO arrives, BB-8's instructed to leave. He does, watching the destruction from afar...



MID-DAY: It takes BB-8 a while to get from the village to the Jakku marketplace. There he crosses paths with Rey, who comes to the marketplace after scavenging. They don't partner up quite yet, though...



SUNSET: BB-8 apparently likes what he sees in Rey, though, and watches her leave the marketplace...



SUNSET: He watches Rey ride off into he sunset on her speeder and decides to follow...



EARLY MORNING: Rey hears a commotion and rescues BB-8 (who traveled all night to reach her) from Teedo and the luggabeast...



LATER, BUT STILL EARLY MORNING: Rey takes BB-8 to the marketplace, where they meet up with Finn...



And then the great marketplace chase and Millennium Falcon escape ensues!

 

When i said all of the march was shown was for the first however many percentage of the film, that was up until that point in time, not from that point until presently.

Well, partially, so, because we will see much more that happens in between. But I'm not saying I'm necessarily 110% right.

 

I don't think there's much in the village that could cause that explosion we saw in the Japanese trailer, and I really don't believe the First Order would just leave a fully armed and operation X-wing lying around for someone to take...

I believe it is.

You need to fit in the market scene where Rey kneels next to BB-8, then gets up and beats down Unkar's henchman with her staff...
Looks to be late afternoon/early morning, at the trading post/marketplace.

Really want to know what Rey hears... because it looks like it makes her pretty mad.
This is probably around where she tells Unkar that "the droid is not for sale!"

 

I think Rey saves BB-8 from Teedo in the very early morning near her AT-AT home, then takes the droid to the marketplace. It's later that morning, but the sun is still low in the sky when they arrive...



Unkar's henchman says or does something that Rey doesn't like and she beats him with her quarterstaff...



I'm guessing Finn witnesses the beatdown and decides to ask Rey for help. But before they can even exchange names, the arrival of the FO grabs BB-8's attention...



Then chaos ensues! Well, that's my theory anyway.

 

Thanks, That would be the one. Couldn't remember where I read it and hadn't heard if had been disproven or not... I hit spurts not wanting to be spoiled and quit reading then I give in later.
