Shouldn't this be moved? Wouldn't it make more sense in another forum on this site.

Yep. Thank you. I'm moving it to original trilogy.

That explains a lot. I never knew the history behind the book. I've read it and my opinion is a cheap sci-fi novel from the 70's. I just chalked it up to early Star Wars stories without a lot of background material available. Now I know there was no background material available.

The author had nothing to go on, and if they never did a trilogy series, maybe, just as a low budget adventure. It's fun though.

I love how in BMS they have a field day with this book's plot. Especially regarding some of the silly details and the terrible treatment Alan Dean Foster gives Leia lol.

Exactly. It's an nice read, but it didn't really say "Star Wars" to me.

I can't find a date on that article, so it's unclear if it hadn't happened yet, or if they just missed it, but that article hints at a significant connection that isn't actually mentioned in the article:

This idea has been recycled into Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures! I've been watching that show, but I had no idea that Kyber Crystals (as it is now spelled) were based on an old idea.

It's a fun show, and I recommend it to Star Wars fans, although it certainly isn't as awesome as the movies.

It's moments like this that make me realize that not everyone spent their teenage years reading Wookieepedia fanatically.

Have this half dream of sometime making this as a low low budget film and then coming up with another low budget sequel in the place of RotJ. Just for the hell of it.
