Not sure if any of this is true. Hopefully, it isn't. Otherwise, things are going to get ugly.

Well, the rumors are definitely very rumorsy; without anything backing them up. But they paint an extremely grim picture that, when fit with the known showrunner turnovers and delays, spell certain doom for the series... and perhaps Star Trek itself.

No matter what feelings people harbor towards the Kelvin timeline Trek (I happen to like it), you can't argue that a lot of passion and love wasn't put into it. I wish CBS would approach it in the same way. The very best-case scenario is filled with endless delays, and we deserve much better than that.

If it was on a network, I would watch it. I'm not about to pay for yet another online streaming subscription just for one show.

As a UK Netflix subscriber I hope this does air but those rumours don't sound good so fingers cross we at least get one season

I'm just getting into the Star Trek universe now (although i'm 33 years old..hahah). Star Trek The Next Generation is now on NETFLIX and I am enjoying soo much. It will take time until I watch the others ST series.

People like to pit Star Wars and Star Trek against each other, and I don't know why. Although I lean SW, I love me some Trek. Have fun with TNG. Seven (I think?) seasons lie ahead of you!

I'm not too hopeful for this new show. I really wish they would move past all the prequel stuff and move forward.
Cameos are a great way to sell a show like this. (a la Spock in the J.J. Verse). Just have Fleet Admiral/Ambassador Picard send the newly christened Enterprise F and its new crew on an exploratory mission.
I'm not sure how well a proper Trek show would do on TV nowadays. I hope it's good though. I love me some Star Trek.

I'm a big Trek fan but I'm not really all that excited about the new show. I'm more of a fan of TOS through DS9 (particularly the TOS and TNG films), but I gave up on Voyager and never tried Enterprise. I've enjoyed the new films, I don't think they're fantastic but they're fun and do a good enough job of providing my Trek fix. If it had been a while since we had some Trek I might be more excited. Many people say Star Trek works best as a show and not as a film, maybe it's because I grew up a Star Wars kid and my first introduction to Star Trek was one of the feature films (Star Trek: VI), but I've always enjoyed them as a film franchise more than television shows. In your average Trek episode they're trying to accomplish some minor mission while debating ethics vs the Prime Directive but in just about every Trek movie IT'S ON. They don't drag you out to the theater unless the Earth is in danger, war is inevitable or something with huge implications. Except Insurrection which was basically a feature length TNG episode. But as a rule when you go to a Star Trek movie you're not going to see Spock playing chess or Data training his cat like you would on the TV show. I'll probably watch this at some point in the near future but I'd be more excited about a film.

Not sure I'm liking the Klingons' new look. For a series that's supposedly set in the prime timeline, between Enterprise and the original series, it's too inconsistent with what we see in either series.

    Also, those lens flares... :p

Yeah, I'm right there with you. It looks more like a reboot than anything that takes place in the same universe as TOS. There's a chance that they might give a proper explanation for everything being so different, but we'll have to wait and see. :)

I was really afraid for this because Bryan Fuller really messed up the final season of Hannibal and he had a lot to do with this, also I am not a fan of Sasha on the Walking Dead. But I gotta say most of this looks pretty good, no sign of Jason Isaacs though. The Klingons look exactly like the Kelvin-verse which is weird especially since they should be crestless at this point in the Star Trek history. The uniforms look really good, like a nice blend of the Enterprise jumpsuit and the classic Original Series shirts. I'm still skeptical but hopefully this is good and well received so that we get more Star Trek (maybe finally revive Enterprise and give it a proper ending).

I think it is just one of those things that we the fans have to accept, like watching all the Star Wars movies. Chronologically you'd start with decent-bad cgi that slowly gets better (I-III) then you get really amazing effects with resurrecting the dead (R1) then really old with some pretty dated prosthetics and effects (IV-VI) then you end with amazing modern effects again (VII-).
As long as there is no contradicting technology than I think it is fine.

This is what concerns me. Artistically speaking, the tech and uniforms, so far, bear little resemblance to the Klingons in either Enterprise or the original series. I'm hoping that there's some kind of explanation for it.
