    i'm 3 episodes in... i'm not really a big trekkie, but i'm actually enjoying it so far.

    There's Klingons on the starboard bow! and they have a new look... still undecided if i like the new look yet or not.

    I finally saw 2 Oreville episodes so i can compare it 2 Discovery.

    I must say.....After watching Oreville I'm never going to watch another Discovery episode again.

    Hopefully STD gets canned we get that rumoured Post Movie Era, Pre TNG Era show instead.

    Everywhere I look I just see a lot of "meh"...but its not like TNG had a stellar first season. So I don't know. I may watch it eventually if they get it from behind the pay wall. I just don't get why, after all the pains they wen't to to "fix" the Klingon ridge issue, would they go out of their way to drastically change them again. Seems completely unnecessary and problematic. Also...prequels are always problematic in some way or another. At least Enterprise tried to use its prequel status to fix and address some things. I just don't get how ten years before Kirk, Spock's adopted sister's adventures can be anything but problematic. But I haven't seen it. It might end up being good eventually. I would much rather have a post-Nemesis series.

    I watched episode 4 of STD a couple days ago, if it wasn't good I wouldn't be watching it... any who, I've watched every the Star Trek series. I think my favorite was is Deep space 9 and my least favorite was Enterprise.

    Yeah, TNG really had a hard time getting it going. For me quite a few of those early episodes are almost unwatchable.

    I liked it aswell , they keept it simple, war with known enemy , not many non plot episodes, and the now classic time loop episode.

    It's not "Discovery", but BBC America has their annual TOS "Treksgiving" marathon going on right now. As we speak Kirk is pulling the Corbomite maneuver and growing annoyed at foolishness.

    Very good new episode "Despite yourself".

    Tyler Ash is Voq confirmed and it seems that Lorca is coming from the mirror universe, guess the emperor is Georgiou ?

    Discovery is actually a good science-fiction, but it's not Star Trek. There are so many weird things going on; I really miss Captain Picard! However, I will watch it and enjoy it as "not-that-trekky".

    I haven't seen the last episode, but mirror universe sounds very promising!

    That pretty well sums up how I feel about the show, too. As a sci fi tv show, it can be very engrossing; as long as you ignore the fact that it has "Star Trek" in the title. ;)

    Episode 10 was good, though. Definitely a high note in the series so far. :)

    Did they hint that Lorca is mirror Lorca again by letting him say that he expected to find a better version of himself in that universe.
    Would be ironic that he saved the mirror of the woman trying to catch him from prison

    I had been watching up till ESP 5 which China put me off the series plus there were other show I wanted to watch at the time.
    However have just caught up by watching the episode in a block & I'm definitely back on board & looking forward to seeing what they do with the remaining episodes.

    The latest Episode was probably my favourite so far yes it's a bit shorter then most but it helped a lot with the pacing & that ending.
    Also the news that it's definitely got a second season (This may be old news to most of you but I have only recently found out.) is great & that second season is going to be interesting in how they approach it.
