Star Trek Discovery

This is going better and better.

The year waiting for season 2 is gonna be a long one.

 

Nice Episode yesterday, looking forward to the final 3. Fortunatly I can easily rewatch that whole thing if waiting for new Season or SW movies gets too long.
It might not be the trek we know but it doesn't ruin my childhood in any way :-D

 

Thanks Netflix for the opportunitty to watch the ST series. I watched all TNG episodes, series that now I loved. And I'm finishg TOS era that I am liking too....last night I saw the first episode of STD. First impressions:

- I like the openning;
- The design of this new enterprise its a mess, horrible. The ship from TNG looks much more real and the design its beautifull, same with the ship from TOS. What happened with STD???
- The Klingons...they look fantastic but are they a new species or they just decide to change the visuals randomly? I know that the klingons from TOS and TNG are differents but I think that was a matter of "lack of money" during the criation of TOS. Right?
- I like the tall alien tenent, not sure about the new captain and number one yet. I need more viewings.

PS. Just watch the 3rd episode.

I tought the first ship that appeared in the first episode was the enterprise...it was not. Now that I see thats is the US Discovery I really liked the design. The visual.effects are ok, too much CGI and most of the time they dont look so real.

 

Another incredible episode.

There's 2 episodes left on and I don't have a clue where this is going ...

Can we get these guy to write for LFL ?

Actually I think it was one of the weaker episodes, I enjoyed it anyway.

Do we really need another timejump episode coming.
OTOH they did a good Job placing hints to every twist they had beforehand.
What happend to the time loop thing Mudd used earlier? 30 minutes should be enough to get back to where discovery started it's journey back.
Or what if the discovery we've seen is back in there universe but we find out that's not the universe we know at all. And in trying to get back 9 months in time they make the series the star trek version of sliders http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112167/

 

End of season in a very treky way !

I really liked this season.

 

Verry good first season.

 

Totally enjoyed the whole season and love how much of it is not TOS or any other Trek that has been done before.

 

Last 2 episodes were really good. Wow, great season ending episode can't wait for season 2!

 

I still had no time to watch the final episode. I hope they provide a reasonable end to this season. I still hope they find prime Lorca in season 2.

 

Eh, it's alright. Nice to see the crew taking a stand for the ideals of the Federation, haven't seen much of that on this show. The final cliffhanger was pretty good. Kinda feel like the first season was just plot exposition and backstory and the second season will start the show off on the right foot. That's just a feeling I have.

 

I think season 1 is about 2 sides trying to find who they are, what are their values and what they are living for. The Klingons and the federation took this journey during this season and much of the characters too.

It's about finding his own identity.

 

I think that's what the writers intended. For new audiences, I can see how that would work. For me, as someone who already knew who and what the Klingons and Federation were, it feels just a little bit redundant. I am looking forward to the second season, though, considering who/what showed up in the very last scene.

 

That was clearly announced that the second season will feel more Star Trek than the first, they even put the music to end the season

I think the vulcan captain is T'Pol, she's not that old for a vulcan.

Hat off though for Shazad Latif, that dude just killed it at speaking klingon, the bet scene during the finale was awesome. I had chills everytime he said Kahless !

 

I expect the Captain to be Number One. Probably Spock was planned to be captain but he declined because of Michael, so he became the new #1.

 

I like the idea of bringing T'Pol in as Captain. That would be very cool. And with Number One, that was a really hardcore role for the time, the network couldn't handle it. Discovery would really have to step up their game to give that role justice and make her truly brilliant. They'd also have to give her a name. Maybe she's Christine Chapel's twin. Captain Chapel has a nice ring to it.

 

It could go like this:
Discovery to Enterprise, you've sent a distress signal. Do you need help.
Enterprise: We found your Captain sitting on a rock on Vulcan, do you want him back?
Prime Lorca is beamed onto discovery's bridge and takes command.

Just finished the short Treks and that was very good.

Nice to see aliens not having human problems.

I'm ready for S2.
