Khan was cool. Q is even cooler. lol. Probably debatable but he is by far the best villain of Star Trek.

I know in a Tie-In comic, Q screwed with the reboot Chris Pine/Kirk crew but I'd like to see him on the big screen. He wouldn't be the main villain though, he would be coming to warn them about the Borg as he did in TNG. The Borg came sooner thanks to the time flux in this reality.

    I'm 100% for that.
I agree Q is way cooler, but I never considered Q to be a villain, More of a Galactic nuisance.
Great Plot there Voxx! I like that idea.

Yeah that time he was pretty cruel but the rest of TNG, DS9, and Voyager he was more of a nuisance. By the way this was one of my favorite Q scenes

    It is not a reboot.

    It is a parallel universe.

Proof: Spock from the other universe appears.

It may not be a reboot in continuity but it is one from an artistic and studio standpoint.

The new franchise is intended to us the base of locations, characters and universe to breed familiarity with a built in audience but erase any continuity requirements so new stories can be told within those existing familiar confines. The parallel universe is the explanation for the reboot. But it is still essentially a reboot, if not strictly technically a reboot.

The new Trek trailer dropped today. We'll be seeing it before TFA on Thursday. Trek fans are dumping all over it, but I like it. Fans wanted the Enterprise crew to go out and explore, and that's what it looks like has happened.

Looks cool but it doesn't remind me of a Star Trek film.

Not a huge fan of the trailer. Looks a bit more like "Fast and Furious in space" than a Star Trek film. Still have high hopes for it though.

I actually love the new cast and the trailer.
Ofcourse, I am old school and the original voyages but that is over now.

I have no issues with the cast, but I did not like the Beyond trailer at all. I'm not the biggest fan of the reboots, but I'd be dishonest if I said I didn't like them or if I considered them the worst of the Star Trek movies. I think there is a lot of room for improvement in terms of story and characterization, so hopefully we see that with Beyond.

I definitely prefer some older Star Trek such as The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and seven of the first ten movies. I'm still working my way through Enterprise with my friend, but we are both very much enjoying it.

Just got out of premiere screening. I have never bothered to rate all the star trek movies, in fact I have never seen IV or into darkness.
But I will say with full sincerity that that was the best Star Trek movie since VI. Laugh if you want, that film.. I was applauding at the end. This was better than Abrams reboot, this was superior to First Contact, which by default makes it superior to every other TNG film. Better than V.
Other than the Enterprise blowing there's nothing in this films plot that I can solidly peg on one film. Bear in mind that nothing in this film is incidentally there, this is an action adventure mystery plot and even incidental stuff has importance to the plot, which is pretty tight.
There is a Star Wars homage in this film and fans of Return of the Jedi will know it when they see it.
