SPECULATION Star Wars: Battlefront II General Discussion

the next campaign is the Crait one, right? i have no idea how these work. do they usually announce more single-player content?
do people really not play single-player games like this anymore? hahahaha

 

In my opinion it is not worth buying just for the single player stuff. It's a great game but single player isn't its strong suit.

 

Simple answer here is: NO.

The campaign is short, and can be easily burned through in one playthrough. And while the story there is neat... that's really about it. It's far from anything ground breaking, and is most certainly not the best Star Wars story out there (though it does have its moments). Even with the addition of the Resurgence "DLC" (I highly suspect the only reason its DLC in the first place is because it was cut from the end of the game by request from LucasFilm/Disney much in the same manner Phasma & Finn reportedly were), what's on offer is incredibly anemic. If you're getting the game strictly for the story, if you're paying more than $20 max, you're paying too much.

Also as per @Jaxxon's question in particular: Arcade, as far as I can tell, does not support space battles. If we're ignoring the multiplayer aspect, which by and large makes up the vast bulk of the game, the only way to play any space battles at all is during certain missions in the campaign.

video games have changed too much since i used to actually play them anyway. i'll just continue to look at the pretty youtube play-throughs, i guess.

or back to plan b: find a "suicide squad" to play with who is as bad at this as i am. XD

 

hahaha ~ i think there have been others of dubious prowess who have expressed similar willingness.
maybe we should make it happen!

 

Thanks for the heads up. Sad to hear this. I'll probably wait until it's nice and cheap to buy it used. Until then, I'm looking forward to a solid, immersive, single-player canon game, if one ever arrives.

It likely won't take long for it to get discounted. Unfortunately, we may have to wait a while for a proper singleplayer title, since Visceral's title was more or less scrapped for a multitude of conflicting reasons (some of them very much justified, others not so much). With EA Vancouver literally having to start from scratch, it'll likely be another 2 or 3 years, at the absolute soonest, before we see anything of it or Respawn's project.

I just made the dive and spent all day playing Battlefront 2. So far, I havn't seen what EA has promised. Unless Im missing something, this feels like a Beta.
Why is it that the Playstation 2 Battlefront had a more charecters than this one?

Why am i dying after only 2 hits, and if this is due to level progression....how am I supposed to level up? Paradox???

Why are the servers for this game even worse than EA's firsr Battlefront? The lagging is incredible.
Why are my loading screens longer than the matches themselves?
Why cant I fly solo offline against Ai? Its rediculous. If i want to fly, i have to spend an hour for the servers to prepare a match just so i can twirl uncontrollably around in rediculous lag skipping, and die every 2 seconds.

I didnt even say a word about loot crates or unlocking charecters.

This game is one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen, and also the worst I've ever played.

If anyone can legitimatly help me with these questions, that would be greatly appreciated. Anything to help me actually attempt to enjoy my moneys worth into this game.

 

So from the commends ud think the game is pretty fine but you get fed up with it pretty fast..

Well that's good to hear. One concern I had with this going forward was that EA would try to drop support as fast as they possibly could, considering the less-than-stellar sales figures they've had.

Here's hoping the next major content release finally adds General Coughbot!

It's decent, if on the anemic side when it comes the amount of offline content. I imagine it'll improve over the coming months as they patch, overhaul, and add more content. However, in it's current state I would wait and get it on sale.

On a completely unrelated note: Finn and Captain Phasma are now my favorite blaster wielding heroes. They're incredibly dangerous, if played right.

Got a PS4 for Christmas that came with Battlfront 2. I've yet to get a PS Plus membership, but am hyped to continue the story mode and especially hyped to play online matches. I definetly need to stay patient and get used to it as I am a new player.

I was playing a custom arcade match earlier with me and 999 clones facing against 999 battle droids on Kamino, which was fun. So far, my favorite hero is Luke Skywalker and my favorite class is Assault or Specialist.

 

Well you've bought it at the right time, the imput lag and rubberbanding has disappeared and the credit earning rate has increased. Its definintely more fun than when it first came out.

 

Anybody got tips for a newbie to online multiplayer?
