Finally got my hands on the game and finished the Campaign. The beginning was good and the ending was good. The middle part was... shallow and felt like it lacks substance. Probably because Dice were limited to pre-existing designs and events. That's why we see a bunch of somewhat pointless Han, Leia and Lando shenanigans, but not any new battles or, say, Starhawk battleships during Jakku (although the Unity is mentioned several times). I still enjoyed it a lot though and the Inferno Squad book was just published over hear, so more Iden Versio is coming this way

 

The last rumor report I read regarding the Solo season (I can try and dig up the link if anyone’s interested) is that we’re getting new skins for Han, Lando, Chewie and Boba Fett. The new characters will be Q’ira and Enfys Nest. (If that’s true, they better give us Jyn and Krennic, and I still want Obi-Wan and Grievous.) I don’t know if that’s true or not, but that’s just what I’ve heard.

As for the Endor Leia challenge, is anyone else having issues with it? I finished both the weekend challenges, but when I go to the Endor Leia crate, it says 0/0. I was never rewarded for completing the second weekend challenge (only the first) and I never got my Endor Leia skin. I did hear that other people had this issue, but has anyone been able to successfully redeem the skin? I’d much rather get it for free than having to pay 40,000 credits for it.

 

I've also head that rumour, but I'm taking it with a grain of salt. That Boba Fett thing is fishy. It's possible he's in the movie, but if there's a skin, I can't imagine them revealing it sooner than way after the movie's release (perhaps in the final phase of the season), because I assume Boba is meant to be a surprise, if that's even legit. Anyway, the first news on the Solo season is going to drop this Wednesday (confirmed by the DICE community manager), so I'll hope we'll finally learn a lot. It's kind of stupid that they announced it's gonna be "the Solo season" the other day and gave us nothing, because the theme was so obvious at this point...

As for your issue - sorry, can't help... Had no time to play recently, I'm kind of mad that I have to skip double XP.

 

Yeah, I thought the same thing about Boba Fett. (And also, how can they possibly have another Chewbacca skin? He literally always looks the same.) I’m very skeptical of the whole Boba Fett thing, but I guess we’ll find out on Wednesday if it’s legit or not! (Because it’s a skin, though, it’s also possible it will just pop up later in the season, like you said.)

The double XP has been a huge help, to be honest! I play Heroes vs. Villains most of the time, and Rey and Kylo Ren are usually my go-to characters, but the game wouldn’t let me level them up past 40, so I’m assuming that’s the max. I’ve been trying to slowly get all of my heroes up to level 40, so I’ve been working on Luke and Darth Maul, and both of them probably jumped about 10 levels today. The double XP has been great! They really need to do that more often. It seemed like they did double XP weekends all the time with the first Battlefront.

 

Nah, there are 3 possible Solo-themed skins for Chewie! First of all the basic one has a different bandolier, secondly there's the goggled Chewie from the train heist and there's also a "naked"/slave one.

 

That’s true! I mean, I’m open to it as long as they do a little more than stick a bandage on his arm that you can barely see. I still can’t believe I actually spent credits on that skin.

That’s true! In all honesty, if it weren’t for my OCD, I don’t know that I would’ve purchased the skin. Chewie is my favorite character, but I NEVER play as him and I think the skin they added for him is the most useless of them all. But I still bought it. Because I suck.

Like you said, though, at least it was somewhat cheap! (I still don’t know that I’ll be able to justify spending the amount of credits they want for the alternate Iden skin, though.... That one is just a joke! In all honesty, I’d much rather have Greedo or Dengar in her place anyways!)

 

Solo season finally incoming.

 

I'm excited for this. I know there are ALOT of people who want clone war content, and thats fair, I personally didn't play the originals back in the day so maybe thats why i dont see the big appeal of the clone war stuff, but again not bashing the people who want it, i just dont understand the bit outcry thats all. for me I'm just happy for some new content and like that the developers really speak to a community. I dont know any other developer reaching out and telling us things ahead of time, but again i could totally be wrong.

but bring on the new content! looking forward to playing and streaming!

 

This is bad. Very bad... Two skins, a map lifted straight from the previous game and half a mode? Come on...

This announcement confirms a major leak from a couple of days ago. What the leaker had to say is very disappointing. Basically, the devs are being moved off the project to work on another game and that's part of the reason why there's so little content. Apparently, the June part of the season will include one small corridor-based map on a new planet, I guess Kessel. New skins are said to be coming too, so these are Han, Lando and possibly Chewie from Solo for sure. No new heroes, no new weapons, no new cards, no new map for GA... That's if the leak is true and it was right about the stuff announced today.

Geonosis, which includes Grievous. I hoped for Coruscant too, but I guess that's unlikely. Also, based on this info, I suppose Rogue One season will be super small or there will be none at all.

I'm so disappointed. It doesn't seem like the game has much of a future...

 

While I enjoyed the campaign this whole game as been a disaster. I'll say this about season passes moving forward: it forces devs to give us better content instead of rolling with it. Or doing very little with the dlc because it is free. Heck, BF1 had way better post launch content then this garbage.

 

Personally, I couldn’t care less about content from The Clone Wars specifically, but considering this game was promoted as including content from all three eras, you’d think the prequels would have more than one map and two characters. If nothing else, there’s no excuse for not including Obi-Wan and a Prequel Trilogy villain (presumably Grievous). Also, if they’re adding Solo skins, they need to bring back Jyn, Krennic and the Scariff map. (I’d love to have Cassian, too, but that’s not going to happen.)

But EA is continuing to disappoint fans. They had all these grand plans for the game and they’re all falling through. Now, I still love the game and play it several times a week, but a lot of people are getting fed up. They’re done with this game and if there’s a Battlefront III, EA’s going to have to do an awful lot to get people invested in it.

That being said, I am excited that they’re bringing back Jabba’s Palace and giving us new skins for Lando and Leia (both skins I NEVER thought we would get). Hopefully we’ll get some more skins for some of the other characters, though. And there are still plenty of maps to be added.

Overall, I’m not disappointed with this announcement, but I think we deserve more considering how long they’ve made us wait. They promised us it would be worth it because the last season was in December, if I remember correctly. There’s no excuse for them not adding more skins, more maps, more characters and more content.

Also, why is 90% of the new content we’re getting recycled material from Battlefront that should’ve been included in the initial version of this game when it launched?

 

If they continue this BS AngryJoe and the AngryArmy will have them for lunch... especially for Battlefront 3. I got back into gaming a few years ago and all my friends that are hardcore gamers said EA is the worst gaming company. I didn't believe them then because I was so excited for Battlefront, but boy I absolutely believe them now. EA is the worst gaming company ever. I hope some how the license is taken away from them.

 

This is why I find it disappointing. It's a great map, I loved it in the first game, but EA is totally weaseling out here. They're cheating. They pretend they release new content but in fact they're lifting straight from the first game (skins, Bespin, now this). If they're adding it now, there's no reason it couldn't have been in the base game. It's a cheap cop-out.

The skins are very cool and it's a great addition to this map, but... at the same time there are more major outfits I'd like to see, like Bespin Luke. Also, I don't play Leia or Lando, so I feel kind of left out. They should give something for everybody. Or at least hooded Luke and post-carbonite Han to make it a more complete Jabba's palace set.

Man, I've been very positive when it comes to Battlefront, but this announcement and leaks about the future made me upset.

 

Exactly. EA is better than this. (At least, they should be.) The first season of Battlefront II was AMAZING. Finn and Phasma were solid additions (I don’t really use Finn much, but Phasma is one of the only villains I like playing as), and Crait is an awesome map. But then everything else they’ve added (except for a few of the skins) were just copies from the first Battlefront game. What a joke.

I totally understand what you’re saying about the skins. Kylo Ren and Rey are my go-to heroes (followed by Darth Maul and Luke), but I play with Leia, Han, Boba Fett and a few of the other heroes occasionally. But EA obviously favors certain characters. Han and Leia both have a crap ton of skins, but most other characters only have one or two (I understand Leia’s look drastically changes for essentially every planet, but some of the skins are very minor changes). They could easily add more for Luke (he’s the main character, I don’t know why he doesn’t have more anyways). Even characters like Finn or Palpatine could easily have more skins that they’ll never get.

There’s SO much potential with this game and it’s so disappointing that they’re ignoring it. I’m in the same boat as you. I’ve had a very positive outlook on the game, but I’m finding it increasingly difficult to stay excited about what’s coming next. There should be so much more than what they’re giving us.

 

I finally got bored playing this game for the first time the other night. I’m hoping with that big progression and all the other background stuff being fixed (for the most part), they can roll out with the content from here on out. All i really ask for are some more galactic assault maps like give me at least two in the near future.

 

Solo Season officially starts today, and they’ve released some new patch notes for us.

I haven’t had a chance to play the game yet, so we’ll see how it goes. I’m excited because it says they finally fixed Phasma’s staff issue. I don’t know if you guys have been experiencing it, but every time I go to use it (particularly against lightsaber-wielding characters), it does nothing. I’m in the process of trying to level up all my heroes to level 40 and I’d get there a lot faster if the heroes’ abilities actually worked. Hopefully this change resolves the issue!

 

After playing the new heroes mode today, I can honestly say that the Jabba’s Palace map is great, but that’s about all this update has to offer. The character skins are probably great, too, but even though I have enough for Lando’s (which is 40,000 credits), I play as Leia more and would rather have hers. Unfortunately, her Boushh skin is 80,000 credits because it’s the first “legendary” skin. I hope they realize they’re losing players fast. They’re damn lucky that I still enjoy playing Heroes vs. Villains and occasionally Assault, because they’re seriously slacking in the update department.

Also, it would be nice if they added the option to change character skins before matches. (I thought they were going to do that when they added the option to purchase/equip/unequip star cards, but evidently not.) I’m really sick of seeing Luke or Han wearing snow suits on Tatooine....)
