I've never watched this series before, but since I'm able to find episodes online I think I'm going to give it a shot.

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS IN THIS THREAD.

I guess I'll start with the first episode, the White Witch.

So I watched the first episode and it was interesting enough to watch more, although there isn't anything that makes it must-see in my opinion.

There's no Empire present in this episode. Instead we get kind of a second rate gangster.

The heroes zoom around in a race speeder, and are professional race speeder drivers. It's kind of interesting that this reflect's Lucas' interest in race car driving, and serves as kind of a forerunner of the pod racing we would eventually see in Episode I.

Pilot episode's tend to be rather hum drum and this is no exception. The plot centers around this gangster's desire to keep his base of operations secret, which the race car drivers and the droids end up discovering. So the gangsters attempt to deal with the heroes in the predictable ways that gangsters do.

I was struck by the animation style though, and that's what really has me interested in watching more. It reminds me of the Harry Canyon sequence from the animated Heavy Metal anthology film. So much so that I wouldn't be surprised to find that the same people worked on them both. Although I think I see hints of Mike Judge's style in there too.

The series was animated by the independent Canadian animation company Nelvana, the same company that did the Boba Fett animation in the Holiday Special. They also animated the Ewoks cartoon series. They were offered the chance to work on Heavy Metal but declined to make their first feature film, Rock & Rule.

The look and feel of it being like Heavy Metal is intentional. The stories were inspired by the science fiction of Jean Giraud better known as Moebius, who was one of the founders of Métal Hurlant (Heavy Metal).

I always liked the rebel spy Key Moll. She is pretty cool except for her off-putting skunk hair-due

I think it`s pretty decent. I`ve recently started watching it and have quite enjoyed it. It`s so diffrent from clone wars or rebels which I liked. Gives you a new dimension of the Star Wars universe.
