Well folks, here we are......in the desert...

So the ST and the saga has wrapped, Resistance came to an end (although I didn't watch it), the final CW season has been released, and Mando is gone until October....what are we to do??

This sounds odd coming from the guy that saw ANH in theaters in '77 about a dozen times, and we got the OT in relative quick succession thereafter....BUT we had to wait for the PT more than 10 years, so this shouldn't be a problem...

    But wait...

    We got spoiled...

Like I said before, Mando is coming back in about 7 months, which at this point seems like an eternity to the devout fans considering that we just got fed SW material with a fire hose over the course of about 4 years, but we've ALSO got the Obi-Wan "Mini-series" (I personally cant wait), as well as the Cassian series, and then there's RJ's trilogy...but WHEN??

Now when RotJ finally withdrew from theaters in the 80's we had Laserdisc's and VHS to re-watch those a million times, and then there was the explosion of EU books that held us over, and we weren't actually sure that we'd EVER see another SW movie again until the PT was announced, and after THAT was over, we were back to believing that we'd never see another SW movie....but alas...the ST came to us, and now we have every means to re-watch it ALL....but I think we're all hungry for more and new SW...

    Are we greedy??? :) :)

We Europeans are getting these shows right now. So, no dry desert here. Haha!

I think times like these are perfect to catch up on other Star Wars content though. For example quite recently two classic Star Wars games - 'Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer' and 'Jedi Academy' - got released for PS4 and Switch. Maybe you want to check them out.

I'm only hungry for a new take on Star Wars, not more Star Wars in general. I wouldn't mind if we get only one Star Wars movie every three years. Quality > quantity.

I’m 100% fine with this. It makes me more excited for when we do (eventually) get more of the major releases and I think that it’ll be a good break for all of us. It reminds us all to not take it for granted when new stuff does come out.

And honestly speaking, this isn’t as much of a dry spell as the second half of 2018 until Star Wars Celebration last year. We had no film in December and only had one episode of Resistance coming out each week, plus a few books and comics here and there, as well as the #clonewarssaved announcement.

Speaking of which, we’ve still got new episodes of Clone Wars coming out each week until the beginning of May. I’d say that alone elevates this “drought” over the one from fall 2018 through spring 2019.

I’ll take this time to rewatch the Skywalker Saga (along with the spin-off films and shows) in its entirety once I own TROS on Blu-Ray this week. I‘m especially excited to rewatch Rebels; I haven’t seen a single episode of it since the finale aired two years ago.

I look forward to what Star Wars has in store for the future, but I’m content with the steady stream of books, comics, and Clone Wars episodes that we have right now. It’ll be good to catch my breath after how busy the last three months of last year were.

I welcome the pause... I have loads of content to still enjoy. Here in the UK we are only just getting The Mandalorian and CW7... I am going to watch Mando first, then CW7 after my re-watch of seasons 1-6.

We don’t get even the digital release of TRoS for another 2 weeks here, let alone the Blu-rays/4K box set.

Then I have a pile of books and comics to get through still, and the Jedi: Fallen Order game as soon as that gets a price drop to my personal pre-determined acceptable price :D

I still haven’t managed to see S2 of Resistance yet either... maybe it’ll show up on D+ here at some point.

As much as I’ve complained about the delays to a lot of the stuff for us, now is a good time to enjoy the slight benefits of them. As awful as real world events are right now, I love that we have the galaxy far, far away to escape to, at least for a little while.

We may be in for a bit of a dry spell compared to what we had been getting, but like others here, I'm ok with a break. Loved everything SW recently, it's a great time to be a fan. We need time to heal, SW will be there.

Some sort of pause is fine for me, if I can call it a break. I have just finished to watch Rebels and now I have to watch Clone Wars. Then, when TROS dvd comes out, I am going to watch the movie again. I am sure I can resist until The Mandalorian season 2 is released.

But WILL we?? Even if they don't reschedule, or outright cancel it over the 'Rona, I'm not sure that I want to rub elbows with 10-50000 people from all over the world, and myself AND my son have 3-day tickets. :(:(

I know where you're coming from. This drought is similar to after ROTS came and went. Honestly, I believe it needs to be this way even though I don't really want it to be but, it makes us miss it and yearn for it.

Yeah, I think we are a bit spoiled and even somewhat entitled. Frankly, after TROS, I am having a major fatigue problem. MAJOR. While I am buying most of them, I currently read only the comics that I review and I have (virtual) stack of unread SW books. The only SW content that made me excited to watch and I wanted MORE OF IT NOW, DA*N IT was Mandalorian. I still haven't seen the latest Clone Wars episode either. That makes me sad.

The break is good, the break is needed. I want my Star Wars excitement back and that only comes with the break. On the other hand, for those who don't have my experience, it's not a complete desert, there are things they can look forward to.

That's a valid point, I'm remaining optimistic for now.

I'm happy enough for now - I have D+ so am rewatching Mando with my eldest daughter and i'm going to start over with CW as only made it to 3rd season previously... but now (for some reason) i have a ton of time to fill, so feel like i can catch up.

still button-mashing my way through Fallen Order, plus i've had the Dark Forces and Jedi Knight games on Steam, unplayed, for about 4yrs - so time to do something about that.

happy to wait for a while on a new movie - as others have said, give it time to settle and the prospect of new cinematic adventures to really appeal.

Agree. Infact I love to take a pause and not only from Star Wars but to any other saga. I prefer to wait a little bit more but have a masterpiece. Of course it depends how long we have to wait. Two years between two movies in the same saga is quite a lot, even with spin off movies in between.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder - less is more - scarcity creates value - the lower the supply, the greater the demand . . . other clichés like that :)

So you're saying there's light at the end of the tunnel? This cloud has a silver lining? Maybe time will tell?
