SPECULATION Star Wars Episode VIII Teaser

You are right that it wont have all the time between December and April, that was a mistake on my part.

But I can assure you they wont put out any sort of teaser or other video promotion for Episode 8 in January. Its way to early and mostly wishful fan-thinking than reality.

 

I am one of those people that believe a short teaser and title will come during the Super Bowl. Not only is it perfect timing after the release of RO, but the Super Bowl is one of the most watched events in the US with millions upon millions of people watching. Also a large chuck of those people will make it a point to be around during the commercials because the Super Bowl has historically had some of the best commercials. I know some people "say" they only watch the Super Bowl for the ads. There is a reason companies will pay millions of dollars for a 30 second slot to promote a their product or whatever.

I know we are not getting anything during the theatrical run of RO and the Super Bowl is, IMHO, the most likely and logical place for them to release something. If they wait any longer then that I feel it would be a bad mistake because eventually stuff is going to leak and that will look very bad on LFL and Disney.

 

While it is the best ad buy in the world.... It's not going to happen.... Let's not pretend that we know better than Disney/LFL marketing teams.

 

Yeah, I don't see

Yeah, I don't see any competition for RO in January or February. Underworld is... meh. The new Borne movie doesn't leave me optimistic about XXX 3. I have seen zero advertising for Lego Batman, or the Great Wall, or 50 Shades Darker.

 

I say when the first teaser description leaks then we can expect something soon.

 

Way to go out on a limb.

RO looks like it will be packed to gills with new trailers, so all the evidence points to the Super Bowl being the earliest we see something and SWC being much more likely

We thought we might get a teaser with Rogue One, but Kennedy says that they want to give the new movie some breathing room. “Probably heading into spring you’ll start to see things,” she said. Star Wars Celebration just happens to take place in early spring in Orlando — from April 13 – 17 to be exact — or could we get a teaser even earlier when Disney’s Beauty and the Beast opens on March 17, 2017?

 

It's dropping at Celebration. There's no two ways about it. All we can hope for is a title to drop early so we have something to theorise about.

Depends on how careful the sources are. Remember what happened after one of the TFA teasers? MSW stopped giving full breakdowns and said he had to protect his source.
