Every day more dirt, spoilers, and secrets are spilled thanks to Kim Jong Un's reprisal for James Franco and Seth Rogen making jokes about his wardrobe. Not anything particularly juicy here, but don't be surprised if more pops up over the coming days as a result of the hack.

Note no reference to Han in Ep. 8 & 9 comments. Hmm. Just just be a casual thing with no meaning? Or not. Only reason I posted this here instead of spinoff forums, since we already knew about Boba Fett/heist rumor.

    Star Wars Details Revealed?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably aware that Star Wars: The Force Awakens, J.J. Abrams’s continuation of the Star Wars story, will hit theaters late next year, and there are several other planned Star Wars films by Rian Johnson (Looper), Gareth Edwards (Godzilla), and Josh Trank (Chronicle). An email dated September 20, 2014, from Michael De Luca, President of Production for Columbia Pictures, to Amy Pascal discusses the plans for Disney’s upcoming Star wars films—and may have spilled some interesting new details.

“Star Wars: Any studio would have lost josh trank and rian Johnson to this, it's freaking Star Wars. Your After Earth writer Gary Whitta is writing Gareth Edwards stand alone Star Wars film. Simon Kinberg is writing Josh Tranks. No one knows what they're about but Boba Fett is rumored to be the subject of one. Rian Johnson as you know is doing the main ones, episodes 8 and 9 of the Luke and Leia story lines, after JJ. Not sure anything is gained by looking at what Lucasfilm is doing except we are stalking all these people too, except Whitta whom I think blows.”

Why the heck Sony would know such info about the movie? I think they are following the last sentence: "Boba Fett is rumored(...)". So I think it's still a rumor.

You know, I just realized I'd been under the mistaken impression that Gary Whitta had written Another Earth, which was fantastic, thought provoking science fiction, and not Another Earth, which was directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

I think that this is legit. Nice scoop OP, it does actually reveal a lot in that one particular sentence.

But there are several stories in this article that are much more important to society than Star Wars. Wow.

Edit - To clarify, the sentence about Luke and Leia in episodes 8 and 9.

Yeah, if you're following this story from a larger perspective, it's actually quite terrifying.

Okay... the Boba Film has been rumoured since Disney announced it's film line up for SW.

And, yes, it might interesting, but nothing surprising about Hollywood egos on a high.

"The Luke and Leia Storyline" is a perfectly normal term. Notice he says Episode 8 and 9 of said storyline. By your logic, was Han not in the OT?

I interpret that line as saying Luke and Leia will be in episodes 8 and 9. That's why I think it is revealing, especially with Leia. However, the omission of Han doesn't really mean anything to me. Of course, there are going to be many different opinions about this article (including its possible validity), but that is just my take.

Ummmmm....Mike Cahill and Brit Marling wrote 'Another Earth,' which was a way great movie. Shyamalan did 'After Earth,' which I haven't seen, but heard it was dreck.

Side question: Why come Shyamalan couldn't follow up Sixth Sense? One of the best twist endings..........no.......the best twist ending of all time. And yes, I've seen The Usual Suspects brah. I know what cooks.

Side/Side question: Will Smith's character in 'Another Earth' was named Cypher Raige. And Star Wars has dumb names? (It does.)

And finally, to make this post relevant: "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," "Lens flare." There.

Why are we assuming that this person has enough info about the scripts to know who survives and who doesn't? Isn't it much more likely (especially given the statement "No one knows what they're about") that the phrase "episodes 8 and 9 of the Luke and Leia story lines" is just a phrase meaning the main Star Wars saga?

Am I missing something? Do we have any reason to believe that this Sony employee would have knowledge about the Ep 7 script or the Ep 8 and 9 treatments?

This is such a non-story. Sony folk don't know any more than you and me dude. Unless they do. But pretty sure they don't. I'm too busy angsting over 'Canon', 'EU deletion', and 'Lens flare' to worry about Sony. Sony? Child please!!!

Side note: Sony, please deliver some kick-ass Star Wars games for Playstation 3 since I don't have a Playstation 4 yet. Thank you Sony.

If I were the President of Production for Columbia Pictures, I would use terms like "whom I think blows.." too.

Also, I agree. Why would this guy have ANY insight what so ever regarding Star Wars?

    Sigh. Neeext?

They're finally going to get Han out of the way and continue the incest story line. I for one can't wait.

The reason I think that Sony had some very small insight about the movies, is because the directors might have been loosely discussing what they were working on, as to why they could not work on any Sony projects. Too much extrapolation from the article? Possibly. Out of the realm of possibility? I don't think so.

Off topic: I understand people being dismissive of what was revealed in the leak, considering it typical Hollywood banter, but to me the hack itself is the real story:

"While a spokesman for North Korea claimed ignorance, he added that the hack 'might be a righteous deed of the supporters and sympathizers with the DPRK in response to its appeal' against The Interview, which the totalitarian country dubbed 'a terrorist act.' The Guardians of Peace, meanwhile, posted a message online that read, 'Stop immediately showing the movie of terrorism which can break the regional peace and cause the War.'”

This, along with the stealing of privacy information is disturbing, and it speaks volumes about the society we now live in. I apologize for being off topic, but I really thought that should be addressed.

I think people who work in the business should learn to not be careless with what they put in their emails. Because they are one click away from the reply to all or a leak like this. The way they talk about things kinda give me a bad feeling about this. I worked in a big company and we were always careful to keep it in a certain light.

I second this. Sony doesn't have inside info into the films themselves, just the talent working on them. For example.

Sony: hey director B, can you do film X for us.
Director B: I'd love to, but it has to wait until I finish star wars spinoff, which should leave me free at date Z
