Too "strictly" separate discussion from picking I post this here.
I took Michael Arndt because I adore what he did for "Little Miss Sunshine".
My daughter is a SW fan herself and she is my "target" as audience for things I have in my mind for the film. I keep it with GL that the stories that happen in the GFFA should bring fun but also hope and inspiration for the younger ones.
Ruzowitzky is not known for tons of "lightness in his heart".
Therefore I would like to let him work together with another writer that offers some good humor. Don't know though if Arndt and Ruzowitzky would be that happy with each other. But oth it's all kind of "fan fiction" what we present in the game right? :D

This is your dream team! Not all the picks are going to blend with each other as much as the others, but yes, total fan fiction in the best way!

I really love this pick, and I really loved Little Miss Sunshine as well

So I never actually saw your initial list of all your picks, but...
Awesome pick!! ... she was also near the top of my list.

But I'll manage. I'm whittling down a list of about 30 actors, so you've just helped me a slight bit.
    ;)

This was a harder choice than y'all may have expected. James Manigold was a very, very close second, himself barely beating out Deborah Chow (who in turn beat out James Gunn), but I'm sticking with the Russo bros.

There are a couple of reasons. First off is name recognition. Movie making is as much an art and passion as it is a business. I want to put butts in seats, and nothing says geek butts in seats like "FROM THE WRITERS AND DIRECTORS OF AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR & AVENGERS: ENDGAME..."

This leads into my second reason. Having either the Russos bros or Markus & McFeely would have been great. As mentioned above, I had options for other directors - Manigold for genre, Chow in order to give her a big budget Star Wars movie and promoting POC directors, and Gunn for characters. But having my four picks together is like having the whole equation. The two pairs have a phenomenal work relationship and are incredibly talented at helping each other explore what is needed on the page and what is needed on the screen. Add to that their ability to take the heart of what a comic or book has and adapt it to the screen while keeping the spirit of said thing alive...that's what I'm going for. The four also are great at giving each and every character a moment to shine and develop - I'm going for an ensemble sort of cast, so I need writers and directors with that ability. (The Russo Bros also have the leeway to make a movie however long they deem appropriate, which is something I can put to very good use...)

Now, outside of all of that, would they be a good fit for Star Wars? I'm thinking yes.

The Russo Bros have experience in putting genres into their works. Winter Soldier and Civil War barely feel like superhero movies, edging closer to the thriller genre (spy and psychological to be exact). Endgame, while being a heist movie, has a modern samurai revenge sort of one-shot scene with Ronin towards the end of the first act.

Community - a veritable breeding ground for talented actors, directors, producers, and EPs - showed off this side as well, with the Russo bros directing the second and third paintball assassin episodes, "A Fistful of Paintballs" and "For a Few Paintballs More," homages to the Western genre and Star Wars itself respectively...and The Man With No Name trilogy in naming. Also, to understand some of the context of these episodes, I recommend watching the first paintball assassin episode, "Modern Warfare." It's a great homage to action-survival movies, Die Hard, and other hilariously generic action movies. It's also directed by Justin Lin of The Fast & the Furious franchise fame!

A minor thing as well is that the special features on this movie's DVD/Blu-Ray release would be good and would definitely come with commentary by the four.

Lastly, the Russos have gushed about their love for Star Wars time and time again. In every MCU movie they've done, a person's hand has been cut off (I think this was also done in every Phase 2 movie). They've even talked about how ESB and Star Wars have influenced them in their Pizza Film School interviews this past summer. I'm not saying that their love for Star Wars will be a good thing entirely, but it always helps to know that the person who's working on a project you care about also cares about said project.

Choosing Dame Helen Mirren is an interesting choice for what I'm going for. I needed someone a little older who could be caring, motherly, wise, and also tired and worn down. Someone who had seen the darkness in the galaxy and was starting to realize that it was seeping into herself, despite all the good she was doing. Mirren's role won't be as physical as my other leading role, but I still need her presence.

@DarthSnow sorry about that lol! That means that your list is packing some serious talent! I can't wait to see what actors you end up choosing!

Not gonna lie, I'm hittin the "A-List" pretty hard. Lucasfilm better get ready to open up their pocketbooks for this behemoth of a movie... :p (and I still don't really know what it's going to be about.)

Actually, making the list was really helpful in that last regard. Once I did I started connecting some names, and ideas started bubbling up to the surface.

Just a heads up, I know I’m up after @Lock_S_Foils but there’s a chance I won’t be able to get my picks in until sometime tomorrow. Apologies in advance, I’ll try to get them in tonight.

If you already know them, you could message @RoyleRancor with the potential picks in the event you don't think you can post in a timely manner (I've considered doing this myself, now that I have a plan in order)...

That way Royle could post them and keep things rolling. Provided @Lock_S_Foils doesn't steal one of your picks, haha. Totally up to you though! I think we've actually been moving at a reasonable pace here, surprisingly. :D

If Lock can get his up within the next 2-3 hours it should be okay, (but please don’t feel the need to rush) if not I think I’ll go and do that.

Always willing to assist make picks if you fear you won't be around in a reasonable time from (personally, 24 hours is reasonable to me given the global nature of the game) but if you don't want to risk clogging it up then I will gladly make the pick for you to keep things speedy.

And for you @Flyboy it would be two picks this time.

Don't forget his role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine! People claim it's the best episode of the show in no small part because of him. Sterling is amazing in every role he does.
