What kind of show would you make for a Star Wars Netflix series?

MARVEL is using Netflix to do their darker side of the MCU, do you think Star Wars will also go this direction?

As with my opinions on the spin-offs I’d really like them to stay within the ST timeline similar to Marvel so that it feels like the entire universe is occurring in something close to real time. SO, I’d be against any backtracking to past eras.

With that said, its hard to judge what is ripe for stories until we know the state of the universe in the ST. Obviously some sort of Underworld show will be a popular choice. I’d also be interested in seeing something like a Band of Brothers style “Rebels” or “Rogue Squadron” kind of show. Perhaps an espionage show? “Bothans of the New Republic” or something of the like.

A Rogue Squadron show would be really cool. Have who ever took Wedge's place as the focus and have Ridley, Luke, Leia, etc make guest appearances.

Here I am. As there is already Rebels in the Dark Times Era, I'd like to see a Netflix series about the Old Republic or a Bounty Hunter series(Rescuing 1313). Maybe there will be some miniseries leading to the events of Star Wars 7.

    Absolutley! Star Wars Underworld please!
As a side note, Gotham and Sheild leave me wanting something more. I hope if and when they make this it is balls to the wall Star Wars, and not a watered down version of the franchise.
Do or do not; there is no try!

How about the 1313 plot/series concept?
The lower level slums of OT era or post-OT era Corcasant?
They could have a Taxi Driver type lead who cruises the dumps & ghettos or a character like Bruce Willis in The 5th Element(the 1990s Luc Basson sci-fi film). He could be a ex TIE fighter pilot or ne'er-do-well like Rick in Casablanca.
Playing all the angles to stay one step ahead of the Hutts or what's left of the crumbling Empire.
There could be gun play, nudity, swears(adult content), gore.

I voted the third option... but only because Netflix doesn't work on my country!

While the Bounty Hunter/Underworld series would be cool, set in the grungy noir parts of Coruscant, Marvel's Daredevil is already going that direction having the setting in Hell's Kitchen, New York City.
Parhaps a series set in the Old Republic era following Revan & Bastilla Shan or their descendant Satele Shan. A Game of Thrones-esque series.

The Star Wars Old Republic or the early days of the Jedi Order would be an interesting series.
If live action it wouldn't be cheap. :(
The video game I saw 4/5 years ago with the Old Republic characters & Sith was great. The writing was compelling the SFX were well made and the score was like John Williams.
That level of skill or craftsmanship would be worth it but I don't think ILM or Disney want to put that much $ & time into it.

Did you ever see Beowulf? Maybe it could be something like that. It was 100% animated but also 100% motion captured. Andy Serkis's team could produce it.

The last time George mentioned it, he said it was too expensive to produce, and they were trying to get the budget down to do-able levels.

I'd love to see Star Wars: Underworld, too.

I think that it could be cool to do a live-action comedy. Like not physical comedy, but a comedic styl/direction...sort of a day-in-the-life sort of thing with the storm troopers since we are getting a storm trooper (ex) as our lead character in The ST. An everyman's group of characters living in something as terrifying as The FO.

I think he said that it would have been in excess of $1million per episode to producer and they were trying to get it to $1million or under per episode.

it was 5 million an episode

other shows have a higher budget then 5 million an episode these days. the average Game of Thrones budget is 6 million an episode. star trek the next generation was 1.2 - 1.5 million an episode almost 30 years ago. Battlestar Galactica was almost 1 million an episode back in 1978.

you can read what show budget costs are here too:

    From Wookieepedia:

"...Lucas expected that, in producing the show, he would "do what would typically cost $20 million, for $1 million." According to IESB, McCallum has said that each episode will have a budget of 2-4 million dollars..."

Of course they were saying all this well before the Disney purchase.

I'd love to see the x-wing series adopted into canon, I feel like Corran might need some heavy tweaking, but the general characters and plot lines could be adopted to the new history

It depends of the quality of the show I guess. But it's hard to think that I won't give it a try.
