I think that it should take place in between ROTJ and TFA.

Character name: Bek Kelrian
Role (ex: jedi, rebel soldier, etc.): Jedi in training
Weapons: Blue cross-guard saber, blaster pistol
Skills: Good with saber, skilled with x-wing, and persuasive.
Appearance: wavy black hair, about 5'7 in height, cargo pants with dark brown leather jacket.
From (planet): Alderaan
Story of Your Character: Bek Kelrian grew up orphaned on the planet of Coruscant. At the age of seven, he encountered a jedi knight who sympathized for him so he took him under his wing and trained him to use the force, be skilled with a lightsaber, and fly with the x-wing. Bek's jedi master was killed on a mission to find an ancient holocron. Bek now longs to join the resistance.
Age: 18

 

Alright I suggest you post this on your wall just so it can get more exposure.

 

Why not go for an Era of your own? Say, a period set between the Old Republic Era and the Clone Wars Era? It's a vast unexplored (mostly) 3000-year period that'll really give everyone lots of freedom with their characters. For example, if say, we go for the 30-year period that's between ROTJ and TFA, then that automatically precludes the use of crossguard lightsabers (since Kylo Ren's was meant to have somewhat of an exclusivity).

There's also the problem with the Resistance, which hasn't really been formed up until the closing years of that time period - same goes for the First Order (at least, its introduction to the galaxy). So, we'd have a time period where the only Jedi running around are a couple of Luke's padawans; there's no grand scale galactic conflict; no direct rival to the Jedi (we can't mess with the timeline of the KoR's attack on Luke's Jedi Academy).

In fact, the greatest reason I'd avoid anything close to the movies right now is due to the fact that Disney is actively molding and reshaping that time period at a quick pace - we'd possibly be facing contradictions very early-on, for example. If this time period is kept and we plan on not breaking the lore, I can either see the game set on a much smaller, personal scale (like a treasure hunt for lost Jedi/Sith relics) or a "political plotting and manipulation" game where several characters try to push their agendas.

 

Yes I agree with this. Plenty of time to do pretty much anything, with no contradictions.

Appearance: Human, 5' 8", blonde, standard security guard uniform
From (planet): Naboo
Story of Your Character: Born in Naboo, the Tahnin family were transported to Coruscant where Brista grew up and volunteered in the CSF before going back to Naboo to get a job in the Royal Naboo Security Guard. She is without ties and can't aim to save her life, but she is valuable to the Guard because she specializes in information.

Weapons: light blaster, jawa stun gun, various explosives
Skills: Making things explode, repairs, perceptive
Appearance: Jawa 3' 2". Jawa robes with bits of junk metal strapped to it for "protection"
From (planet): Tatooine
Story: Dip Dink is a jawa who is really bad at being a jawa in the normal sense. Dip has had a knack for blowing up most of droid's he tried to fix. It wasn't that he didn't know how to fix the droids, he just liked how they blew up "all pretty like" in a firery explosion better. It got to the point of him intentionally rigging things to explode on the sandcrawler just so he can enjoy the "pretty lights". This type of behavior got him exiled from his clan after a particulary destructive incident and he became a scrap collector on Tatooine, where he would rig up makeshift explosives and the like so he can watch the fireworks. He adopted the name Fritz as a new identity after overhearing someone talking about his handiwork.

Upon accidentally maiming a wanted criminal one day, Fritz found a new use for his unique set of talents. And now Fritz travels the Galaxy, collecting the bounties of those who underestimate him, with only his plush rancor as a companion. He has currently collected nineteen bounties, and is looking to expand that number by a good hundred.

I just wanted to keep my role fairly light hearted/comic mischief
