Following the release of the reveal trailer a few days ago EA released a full gameplay trailer, revealed at EA Play Live yesterday. The trailer not only shows footage from the game itself but also details the various game modes and customization available.

    Check out the trailer below:

If you want the full video including the interview with Motive's creative director, Ian Fraizer about how the idea came to be and some of the inspriations behind it check out the video below:

The game will begin with a single player campaign which swaps between both New Republic and Imperial viewpoints, as a way to learn the games mechanics and get the player prepped for multi-player. The video also describes the games multiplayer modes: Dogfights and multi-staged Fleet Battles.

Additionally, customization is available (all unlocked in-game, no cosmetic purchases) for the pilot, the ships look, and even the interior (note the fun Ewok bobblehead). The ship itself is also customizable with over 50 alterations:

The game will be released on October 2 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, with VR available for all game modes. Pre-order here.

Does anyone know if the Dogfight and Fleet Battles modes allow for offline single player vs. AI in addition to online multiplayer?

I was sure I'd read somewhere that they do, but I'll be damned if I can figure out where it was!

I can't get past the first mission after the prologue on the PC version because Gunny keeps flying in circles. The same bug mentioned on this youtube for the PS4 version:

Got it yesterday and have played it a good bit today. A lot more fun than I expected from an EA game, and yes, multiplayer modes are also available as offline solo vs. AI if that's your preference (it is mine.)

Well worth 40 bucks if it doesn't break the bank!

Just tried playing it, flight controls are so terrible I shut it off before firing a shot. Maybe there are some rebinding options, otherwise this is a pretty terrible flight sim.

I'll probably be getting VR before the end of the year, so I'm holding off until then so I can experience this game for the very first time inside the cockpit.

It's been such a long time since I haven't gotten a game I've been excited about during its release week. I know what I have to do, but don't know if I have the strength to do it.
