Ep VIII was a terrible part of the saga but still a part of the saga.

I'm quite surprised that the bareer language isn't active anymore and you and friends know understand what I say.

    It's a miracle.

Why are you so worried about my money ?

Just pretend the bareer language is still there. You used to when it was very convenient for you.

Are you denying my freedom of speech ? I use my time as I want, I'm working so no big deal for me.

BTW, I didn't quote you, I just answer when you're talking to me.

Lol. Some in-the-tank-for-Disney site magix up some numbers for the 'profit' of films, and the faithful take them on face value. I'd sooner believe AFI numbers(which are also as dumb as dumb can be) than that stuff.

Could you also post the contracts and internal financial documents that these numbers were pulled from? Anything from Disney that shows this profit? Or do we just take some bs website's word for it?

Spoiler: You Can't. They're made up numbers and guesses that have very little relevance to actual financial statements.

Uh dude. I didn't say it was OWNED by Disney. I said it was in-the-tank for Disney. Actually read their article that you posted. They didn't even buy Mickey a coffee first, before going to town on him. Its so up Disney's rear end, its hilarious.

You would think when you have a site detailing money(particularly with soft numbers), that it wouldn't be partisan. But not the case here, bringing everything they say into question. Remember, trust must be involved that their guesstimates are supposedly somewhat correct. If all they're doing is playing to the Mouse for future presents, that credibility becomes 0.

It just becomes another puff piece trying to spin a bad movie, just like any of the many TLJ-wasn't-really-bad articles on Yahoo.

There's a multitude of ways he can watch SW films without having to pay a penny/cent so, you know, he won't have to.

The article is simply about the most profitable films of 2017. The Last Jedi was the most profitable film of 2017 by a comfortable margin. You might as well be upset that the sun is going to rise tomorrow.

I've never seen a group of people dislike a film and be so angry said film was a success.

    LOL.

I think you'll find, as the joke holds, in reality TLJ didn't make a 'profit', because studios tend to make sure they don't(tax reasons). These are by and large fantasy numbers and guesstimates by a site that is openly favorable to Disney. And they likely have little to no relation to the actual reality. Just another fictional tale designed to spin TLJ's poor performance. I've never seen a group of people try so hard to overinflate a movies 'success'.

If I had a choice, i'd much rather fund Get Out, than TLJ.

What i'm really waiting for, though, is the star that sees one of these bs breakdowns and takes it as fact and files a lawsuit because it doesn't reflect anywhere near what they got. They get in court and Disney is like lolfanslol.. here are the real numbers!

Once people start making comments like "TLJ didn't make a profit" you just have to assume they're either irrational or a troll looking for attention. Either way it's best to just ignore the person. It's not worth the effort.

@ScumAndVillany won't be happy until he finds a website that claims nobody paid a penny to see the movie, the cast and crew all committed suicide, and everyone who saw it is in serious need of Xanax.

If constructive additions are a prerequisite to be allowed to post here in the Cantina then most of the users would be banned.
Is it not easier for you to just hit ignore button for all you deem unworthy of posting here?

    Freedom of speech bro! ;)

My very specific question was to Bandini (who I've interacted with for years and who I respect). I didn't say anything about prerequisites. Very strange you're getting involved.

Freedom of speech tho! I agree with that.

I'd like to know where they get these numbers. I've heard three very different numbers from three very different people/sources. Anywhere from over 500 million to 265 million. Frankly, Disney is desperate to cook the books and inflate their profits in order to make them look good. They've lost a lot of money in toy sales over the past couple of years and the movie didn't meet their projection. Something's amiss here.

Frankly some people who didn't like the film are desperate for bad news about a film that made a comfortable profit. So it's a little to throw around phrases like "Disney is desperate." Disney? The Disney that owns ESPN/ABC/Pixar/Marvel/Lucasfilm? Disney who just bought Fox?

It's going to be okay. You didn't like the film. It happens. Maybe you'll like future films.

How about this? You stop playing spin doctor about how many people didn't like the film? A lot of people didn't like it. You seem to have a hard time with that. You liked it? Ok, that's fine. I'm just stating three very different numbers about profits. So, which is it Disney?
